At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we never want to reschedule moves. We know that our customers are eager to move into their new homes or offices. Maybe they need furniture moved before their family arrives for the holidays. There are ways to prepare for your move and some tips to keep in mind while planning.
- Allow for more time for your move in case a large storm does come. Although we try to avoid rescheduling at all costs, in Northern Michigan sometimes it is unavoidable. Give yourself plenty of time to move when discussing closing.
- Provide a complete inventory list of the items you need moved so that we can prepare how much time is needed. We do apply a window to all of our estimates in case there are any delays. Having a clear idea of how much is to be moved and what the items are will help minimize the risk of the move taking longer- and the bill being larger.
- Have a clear driveway and walkways. This not only helps the movers transport your belongings safely, it will also help keep your house from a lot of excess snow and slush.
- Purchase mattress bags and carpet shield. We have both of these protection options available. We lay floor runners in the main walkways on every move free of charge.
- Inform your Customer Service Representative of anything that may be a concern. If your driveway is sloped, if you have stairs leading to the front door, or you live down a seasonal road. WE NEED TO KNOW!
The best way to prepare for any move is to communicate with your movers. The more prepared we are, the more seamless your move will be.
