Halloween is rolling into San Diego, and that means it’s officially Boxtume season! At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® San Diego, we’re all about turning ordinary moving boxes into extraordinary costumes. Whether you’re crafting with the kids or looking for a last-minute idea, we’ve got the perfect DIY inspiration to help you stand out this spooky season.
Halloween is almost here, and if you’re still scrambling for a costume, don’t worry — TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® San Diego has you covered with one of our favorite DIY creations: the Popcorn Box Boxtume!
It’s easy, affordable, and made from something we know best — moving boxes! Start with a medium-sized box and cut out holes for your head and arms. Wrap or paint the box with vertical red and white stripes, then write “Popcorn” across the front to complete that movie-theater look.
For the popcorn, grab yellow tissue paper or spray-painted packing paper and crumple it up. Tape or glue it around the top edge of the box so it looks like fluffy kernels overflowing. Add some sunglasses or 3D glasses for an extra pop of fun!
This Boxtume is a perfect weekend project for families — quick to make, kid-friendly, and totally Instagram-worthy. Whether you’re trick-or-treating through Little Italy, heading to a Halloween block party in Chula Vista, or crafting at home in La Jolla, this costume is guaranteed to get smiles all night long.
At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK San Diego, we help local families move every day — but we also love helping them get creative! So before you hit the costume aisle, look around your home for some cardboard, tape, and imagination. You might just have everything you need for a blockbuster Halloween.
