We just wrapped up our second annual Glam It Forward event, in collaboration with our friends at Mix 95.7, and it was a huge success! Glam It Forward is an event that gives girls in the area the opportunity to get a prom dress for free. Our partners at Mix 95.7 came to us last year with this idea because they had over 1,000 dresses in our storage, and we knew there was a need within our community to give these back to people who are in need.
This year, we had a huge focus on a donation drive to receive a new batch of dresses to give away, and we got hundreds. We also got plenty of shoe and accessory donations as well which made the event even better!
The event was on March 29th at our Comstock Park office from 11 am - 3 pm, and the line started forming at 9 am. We had girls and families there from start to finish, and we are so grateful that we had to opportunity to give girls a chance to have a great prom night. This would not have been possible without the help of our amazing partners like, Uptown Cheapskate, Hot Tropics Tanning, Paul Mitchell the School, Party Balloon Studio, and the amazing volunteers who helped us out.
We gave away over 200 dresses, tons of jewelry and shoes, as well as some amazing coupons from our partners to make the girls night even more special. We want to thank everyone who came, donated, and volunteered. We cannot wait to make this event even better next year!
