BOCA RATON BOAT PARADE CANCELED

One of the best things about living in a tropical paradise, especially in the winter, is the weather. One of the worst things about living in a tropical paradise, any time of the year, is ...the weather.

Boca Raton Boat Parade Canceled

In South Florida, we know that if you're not happy with our current weather conditions just wait five minutes or simply cross the street. This week however that is not the case. This weekend we are anticipating a Nor'easter, called such because the winds come out of the North East. They can occur any time during the year but are most prevalent between September and April. They also usually manifest as blizzards; but this is Florida, so instead the storm is coming in as wind and rain on the weekend when not one, not two, but three separate boat parades are scheduled to occur.

Our hardy South Florida boaters are no strangers to wind and rain but this is on par with boating during a minor tropical storm and something to be avoided if at all possible. The rain isn't even the hard part, it's the wind.

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we move mountains (mostly figuratively but sometimes if feels literally) to accommodate the wants and needs of our customers. However, we must always remember that "Safety First" is not a cliche but a credo. The Boca Raton Boat Parade has had to embrace that tenet and will unfortunately not happen this year. Rescheduling is sadly not an available option. We applaud their decision to put the safety of the boaters and the spectators first even if it is not always the most "fun" or popular choice.
