Book Your Date Sooner Rather Than Later

Once you know a move is happening, reach out to your local franchise right away. Summer is peak season, and open slots disappear fast as other families, many timing their moves around the school calendar, snap them up. Booking early gives you the best shot at locking in the date you actually want.

Keep an Eye on the Forecast

Summer weather has a mind of its own. Heat waves, sudden storms, and humidity spikes can shift conditions quickly. Checking the forecast in the days leading up to your move helps you know what you're walking into and lets you prepare accordingly.

Stock Up on Water and Snacks

Hiring professional movers doesn't mean you'll be sitting still all day. You'll likely still be on your feet and moving around plenty. Make sure there's enough water and food on hand to keep your energy up. A cooler packed the night before, stocked with drinks and easy snacks, means nobody has to go searching for something to eat or drink mid-move.

Don't Skip the Sunscreen

It's easy to overlook, but you'll be going in and out of the house repeatedly on moving day, which adds up to a lot of sun exposure. A solid coat of sunscreen applied beforehand, and reapplied as the day goes on, helps you avoid ending the day with a sunburn on top of sore muscles.

Dress for the Heat, Not the Occasion

Smart clothing choices matter for any move, but they matter even more in summer. Go with lightweight, breathable fabrics, and pair them with a comfortable, supportive pair of sneakers or athletic shoes. Between the lifting, carrying, and walking back and forth, you'll be glad you dressed for comfort instead of style.
