Moving can be a stressful time with a lot on your mind. Here is what you need to know when planning your move!
Whether you are moving across town or across the country, the estimate will be based on how much you have to move. While local moves are based on the time your move takes, long-distance moves are based on weight. Either way, we need to know everything that you are moving to provide an accurate estimate.
Inventory
We can receive an inventory list in a few ways. You can provide your Customer Service Representative with a complete list, you can provide photos or video, we can even come out for an In-home consultation. It is a good idea to take your time when documenting your inventory. Make sure you do not forget about garages, attics or outside furniture. Having this done ahead of time will expedite the process.
Scheduling
Knowing where you are moving or having a closing date is not required when calling for an estimate. We can provide a pretty good idea with the general location and timeframe. We do not charge to reschedule your move! Don't be afraid to schedule in advance. Typically, you will want to reserve time a month ahead. This depends on how many movers are needed, how long your move will take, and how flexible you are on your move date. If you don't have a lot of notice, don't worry, we will schedule you as soon as the next day if it is available.
When planning your move, remember, it is always a good idea to overestimate! If you end up adding items on, the price may go up.
