If there’s one thing we have plenty of in the moving business, it’s boxes. And while we normally use them to pack up kitchens and closets, this time of year we love seeing those boxes get a second life—as Boxtumes.
Yep, you read that right. Boxtumes = Box + Costume. And they’re not only creative and fun; they’re also a great way to bring people together and spark a little local Northern Michigan magic.
What’s a Boxtume?
A boxtume is a Halloween costume made out of cardboard boxes. Think robot suits, vending machines, rocket ships, race cars. With a little tape, paint, and imagination, your average moving box becomes the base for something truly awesome.
We’ve seen families turn old moving supplies into group costumes, classrooms turn it into a craft activity, and your local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® uses them to "be their best and have FUN!". It’s DIY at its best—budget-friendly, earth-friendly, and a whole lot of fun.
Why We Love It (and Think You Will Too)
As movers, we’re always encouraging reuse and recycling. So seeing a stack of gently-used boxes become something creative is a win in our book. But there’s more to Boxtumes than just cardboard.
