Movers for Moms®
The MOVERS WHO CARE®
When it comes to serving the local community, we always aim to do so with excellence. The needs in our local communities demand it, and we are ready to meet the challenge. As the MOVERS WHO CARE®, we make it our aim to do two things: show care to others and give back to the community. These are two of our six Core Values(opens in a new window).
- Care: To have compassion for family, customers, co-workers and community.
- Give Back to the Community
To speak further on the core value of care, you can understand it better through the following acronym:
- Community - serving the local community
- Action - being active in love to others, not passive
- Respect - to think of and treat others equally
- Excellence - to give 110% in everything we do
Now that we've taken a look at our Core Values, let's take a deeper look at how we put that into action.
Movers For Moms
Each Spring, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the U.S. collect donations for local women’s and family shelters for delivery on or around Mother’s Day. The purpose of the program is to recognize those moms living in shelters this Mother’s Day by arranging delivery of small gifts for women who are victims of domestic abuse or homeless.
2025 marks the 18th year for the Movers for Moms® program and the 11th year it’s been a national program. This will be the 10th year the Ocala location is running Movers for Moms®.
The donations we encourage include these items: cleaning supplies, personal care items, baby supplies, clothing, and non-perishable food. In most cases, shelters will provide a list of specific needs.
When does it happen?
The collection runs from March/April until Mother's Day. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will pick up and deliver the collected items to partnering women’s shelters by the Friday before Mother’s Day. Items can also be purchased on Amazon or other online retailers and delivered directly to the franchise.
Why a collection for moms?
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® was started by a mom, has women in key leadership roles across the company, and some of our most successful franchisees are women, so the idea for Movers for Moms® came to us naturally.
Results from previous years
In 2024, more than 431,000 items were collected and distributed to shelters for Mother’s Day. Every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise in the United States participates in Movers for Moms®. Since Movers for Moms® started in 2007, over 2 million items have been donated to shelters to help moms in need.
