TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Kicks Off Movers for Military® Drive to Help Veterans in Shelters

Jersey Village, TX, September 12, 2023 — TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. kicked off its annual MOVERS FOR MILITARY® campaign this month, it runs until Veterans Day, November 11. Read on to see how we are helping Camp Hope and how you can help support our brave veterans.

As a way to show our appreciation to veterans past and present this Veterans Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Houston NW is hosting its annual Movers for Military collection drive. The goal is to provide essential items to veterans and their families who need a little extra assistance this fall.

Tragic statistics from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans(opens in a new window) state that about one-third of the adult homeless population in the US is veterans. About 131,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. Over the course of a year, approximately twice that experience homelessness. About 1.5 million other veterans are considered at risk of homelessness due to a lack of support networks and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.

This year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Houston NW is partnering with local schools and businesses to collect donations for Camp Hope (https://ptsdusa.org/(opens in a new window) ).  This is in addition to our recurring donation to K9s for Warriors for every completed move survey we receive. These locations will serve as drop-off points for items and the public can drop off donations until November 8th.

Camp Hope is a residential treatment facility, located in Houston, TX, that "provides interim and transitional housing to veterans working to heal their invisible wounds."  Their 5-acre campus has 120 beds in five different housing facilities.  They have classes, worship services, Warrior group meetings, and AA meetings for veterans.  Please help us to support this great organization, that has helped more than 16,000 combat veterans, from all branches of the military.
