8 TIPS TO MOVE YOUR HEAVY GYM EQUIPMENT IN YOUR HOME:

  1. Disassemble all exercise equipment properly before you move it. It is important to remember to take this step, because most exercise machines and treadmills have an uneven weight distribution. They also have awkward shapes, which makes moving the equipment extremely difficult.

  2. It is important to take apart the entire piece of equipment and then move it to the desired location.

  3. Keep track of the parts of the equipment you disassemble and remember where the pieces go. It helps to take pictures during your disassembly.

  4. Have a dedicated box or bag to place the parts you disassemble, that way you won’t lose them.

  5. Ask for help! Depending on what you’re moving, it’s best to have someone there helping you for multiple reasons. Having an additional person to help you will make your move safer, more efficient, and less stressful.

  6. Use professional moving equipment such as dollies and furniture sliders. This will make it go a lot smoother. As professional movers, we always stress the importance of using professional moving equipment. Furniture sliders are an amazing tool to use when you’re trying to get something from one end of a room to another. Moving dollies will help you move a lot of equipment; this will also give you more control and help you limit damage.

  7. Protect your floors and walls. Since home gym equipment is large and tough to move, it’s a great idea to use protection for your floors and walls. It’s also a great idea to buy floor runners and padding for walls. This will help you navigate through your home with the equipment without damaging your home.

  8. Practice patience and don’t over do it! Moving gym equipment is a difficult task, and you should take your time to do it the right way. Using patience and not trying not to over lift will help you have a smoother moving process. It will also lead to less damage to your equipment and home and lower your risk of injury to yourself.
