TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns
Movers for Military
In the fall TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® chose to find a way to give back to those who have given so much to our country. Many of our military veterans are homeless or in great need of support. Veterans Day is a time to thank our veterans for their sacrifice and service to our country. Statistics from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans show that about one third of the adult homeless population in the U.S. is veterans.
To show our appreciation to veterans past and present and in honor of Veteran's Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK hosted its Movers for Military collection drive. Many businesses and organizations helped collect essential items to be distributed to homeless veterans through the Midwest Shelter For Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, Illinois. We partnered with the Greater LaGrange YMCA, Elmhurst YMCA, Berwyn Public Library, Morgan Stanley, Orland Township, Joliet Public Library, and Shorewood-Troy Public Library. Over 600 items were collected and delivered in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Movers for Moms®
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country collect donations for women each spring and deliver them to local women’s and family shelters on or before Mother’s Day. This program grows each year.It was an incredible year for our Movers for Moms® campaign. Nationwide over 295,000 essential care items were collected. Our local contributions were delivered in honor of Mothers Day to the Family Shelter Service in Wheaton.
American Cancer Society
Every year a percentage of each move is contributed to the American Cancer Society. Team members at all four Chicago locations are thrilled to particpate in giving back to the comunity. We regularly donate boxes to local churches and perform charity moves.
Peoples Resource Center
Since 1975, People's Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. Nearly 30,000 DuPage residents rely on PRC for help each year. With a team of over 2,400 volunteers, PRC offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times. The 2017 Stuff-A-Truck event was a huge success. Two trucks filled to the brim with food were collected. Thanks to Peoples Resource Center for their ongoing efforts to help those in need.
