MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER

We're proud to support the American Cancer Society at their annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Newport News! We love having the opportunity to give back to the community and orginizations such as the American Cancer Society, by donating our time and manpower to aid in event set up and support.

Our Market Manager, Stephanie Collins, shares what this partnership means to her:

"Not long before I started working for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, my first partnership opportunity between the company and Making Strides was when I was the Survivor Chair for my local American Cancer Society chapter. I got involved with the American Cancer Society after watching my grandmother battle breast cancer and melanoma cancer most of my life. Sadly, she lost her battle my freshman year of college. As Chair, I asked the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK corporate office to donate an item for my goodie bags. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK showed up with numerous items! I was overwhelmed with their generosity. Little did I know that I’d be moving to Virginia to work for a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise a few years later. It’s such an amazing feeling working alongside these MOVERS WHO CARE, where I can HAVE FUN AND BE MY BEST. It’s such a warm feeling working for a company that supports our community. I enjoy being a part of a company that gives back to their local community and look forward to supporting the numerous events the American Cancer Society holds each year."

RELAY FOR LIFE

Our movers are proud to support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life by donating their time to help with the set up and take down of the stage and larger elements of the event.

THRIVE PENINSULA

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Newport News is proud to partner and assist with the Thrive Peninsula. The THRIVE Peninsula ministers to the physical, economic, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of our neighbors. Addressing both essential living needs (e.g., food, housing, utilities) and the unique crises affecting each person, this volunteer-driven coalition helps coordinate community resources for a tailored, integrated response. We continuously participate in fundraising events they hold throughout the year, donating our trucks, manpower, and time to assist with the set up and tear down of these events. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Newport News also assists with the relocation of their clients when they recieve new housing after being homeless and when their residents are donated furniture they need.
