Local Partners

BARRETT HAVEN INC.

Barrett Haven Inc. is a program for homeless single women and single pregnant women designed to help break the cycle of homelessness. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Norfolk continuously helps Barrett Haven Transitional Home with moving donated furniture for women who find housing, relocating a woman's belongings into storage, and with pick up/delivery of donated office and household furniture for the shelter.  We have also assisted them in projects around their property, along with being the receiving partner of our annual Movers for Moms® campaign.

HOPE HOUSE FOUNDATION

Hope House Foundation provides supported living services to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities exclusively in their own homes or in local apartment communities they own, regardless of how complex their disabilities may be.  We continuously partner with Hope House Foundation on fundraising events they hold throughout the year, donating our trucks, manpower, and time to assist with setting up and tearing down these events. We hosted a “Fill the Truck for Hope House” campaign where we picked up large unwanted items free of charge from local residents to be donated to the Hope House Thrift Store.  We concluded the campaign at Chelsea West Fest, where our truck was set up to collect donations from the festival to help benefit the thrift store and Hope House Foundation.  We most recently helped with the set-up of Shamrockin' in Ghent,

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Norfolk also assists with relocating their residents when they need to move to and/or from one of their housing locations.

RELAY FOR LIFE of Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk

Relay for Life is a life changing experience that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled/are battling cancer, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Norfolk had a Relay for Life team who raised money for the Norfolk Relay for Life and we also donated our trucks and movers to help with moving many large items for the Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk events. We also assisted with setup and tear down of the events.

SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA FOODBANK

The Southeastern Food Bank provides nutritious food to 390,000 individuals and families annually. Over 14.2 million meals (almost 17.1 million pounds of food) are distributed in 11 local cities per year. We partnered with the Hampton Roads Realtors Association at their Wine & Cheese Social to collect non-perishable food items for the Southeastern Virginia Food Bank. Together, we collected roughly 490 lbs. of food.

YWCA

The YWCA South Hampton Roads is a source of strength, courage, and empowerment for women and families. Founded in 1911, The YWCA South Hampton Roads is one of the oldest and largest multicultural women's organizations in the nation. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Norfolk hosted its first ever “Movers for YWCA Children” campaign and collected several boxes full of school supplies items for the Child Development Centers where the YWCA provides free and/or low-cost licensed child care at the local TCC Campuses for single moms.
