Update: San Antonio, you guys are amazing! We collected over 15,000 items to be delivered directly to the Battered Women's and Children's Shelter of Bexar County! If you still have items that you would like to donate, you can deliver them directly to the Battered Women's and Children's Shelter. Thank you so much for the incredible support. Movers for Moms® is an annual Spring campaign in which TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® partners with local shelters to help mothers who are struggling with homelessness or are staying in shelters due to domestic violence. Our goal is to make life easier for at-risk women who find themselves in shelters on Mother’s Day. We wouldn’t be able to achieve these goals alone. Each year we partner with businesses and apartment communities to increase awareness about this cause and to collect as many donations as possible. All donations are collected on behalf of the Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. and delivered just before Mother’s Day. The American Cancer Society is a wonderful resource that provides emotional support and up-to-date information of cancer and treatment options. They also offer free rides to cancer treatment as well as a free place to stay to patients who must seek treatment outside their own community. Since 1946 they have invested more than $4.5 million dollars to cancer research. For every move completed by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, 10 cents is donated to the American Cancer Society so that they can continue this important work.

The Animal Defense League is a non-profit organization that provides a healthy environment for companion animals that have been abandoned, abused or neglected. The Animal Defense League will take in any cat or dog regardless of its condition when it arrives and each animal receives complete medical treatment. They also offer a low cost spay and neuter program to assist owners who may not be able to afford it otherwise, and have a catch and release program so that feral animals can be spayed or neutered before being returned where they were found. 

Cheeriodicals partners with different companies to box and deliver gifts for children who are in the hospital. The great part about this organization is that their efforts include team building opportunities for the companies who work with them while they box the care packages. The team at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is happy to help them out by picking up and delivering these boxes free of charge. And we even get to help pack up some of the gift boxes! 

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is proud to partner with the FVPS for our annual Movers For Moms® collection drive! Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. was established in 1977 and has been serving the San Antonio community by assisting victims of domestic violence since its founding. They have several programs that provide the necessary tools to help victims of abuse and meet their needs. Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. runs the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter in San Antonio and also provides non-residential support services.

Mosaic is a faith-based organization that works on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities. Mosaic does this by providing opportunities for every individual and working with them to set and achieve their personal goals. Sometime this involves helping someone move out on their own or into a host home so they can continue their own path. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is happy to provide moving services to help them get set up in their new home!

The San Antonio chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities works to support and encourage families with sick children by providing accommodations for them when they travel far from home for medical treatment. The efforts made by Ronald McDonald House Charities are well known and we are happy to have the opportunity each year helping them to set up and break down their annual gala event free of charge. The proceeds from this gala help to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities’ mission.

Snack Pak 4 Kids is a charitable organization that works to end child hunger by sending food home with students for the weekend. Every cent of the donations they receive goes towards purchasing food that is then discretely placed in the backpacks of children who have been identified as living in “food insecure” homes. Our team participates in this effort by delivering the snacks to local schools completely free of charge. 

The Susan G. Komen organization was founded in 1982 and has since funded over $920 million in research. However, they do even more to educate communities about breast cancer and provide necessary assistance to those who need it most resulting from breast cancer diagnoses. Every year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has the opportunity to take part in the Race for the Cure in San Antonio! We help set up and break down on registration day and transport water on race day.
