Community Support, and Support from the Community – it goes hand in hand!
MOVERS FOR MOMS®
Our 2016 Movers for Moms® campaign set new records, and we expect 2017 to be another banner year. This is our company’s signature charity endeavor – all 400 locations participate – and our mission is to help women and children staying in shelters here in Westchester County. Partnering with gracious business, schools, and drop-off locations throughout the county, we have collected tens of thousands of items for donation – everything from robes, baby clothes and strollers, to toiletries, slippers, wipes and diapers. Our hope is to make the day a little brighter for these mom and their children, and we drop off the items we’ve collected just before Mother’s Day. If you’d like to hear more about how you can help, or where to drop off donated items, please reach out to Barbara!
Friends of Karen
Friends of Karen is a great charity based here in North Salem. Their purpose is to “Provide emotional, financial and advocacy support for children with a life-threatening illness and their families in order to help keep them strong, functioning, and able to cope”. They were founded over three decades ago, and since then, have helped over 14,000 children – with their namesake, Karen, being the first – and their families. We are humbled to be able to help them in any way possible, including donated boxes for upcoming shipments, deliveries, etc.
BAKING MEMORIES 4 KIDS
Helping make children’s lives better, while sharing and snacking on delicious cookies? Sign us up! Baking Memories 4 Kids bakes and sells yummy chocolate chip cookies, but the magic part lies in what they do with the proceeds: their goal is to send children with either terminal illness, or life-threatening conditions, on joyous Florida vacations with their families. We’re humbled to be able to support their efforts, by transporting display items, cookies, etc. to locations throughout the area.
Two Men and a Truck Lights the Night
In the fall of 2018, our movers at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK donated their time, labor, and services to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for their “Light The Night Walk”. The society’s goal is to provide information, help, and support to patients and their families that have Leukemia and Lymphoma. Our movers assisted by loading and unloading event materials for the walk and also storing them after the event was over. We were very honored to be a part of this event and will definitely participate again next year!
