DVRC Heros Among Us Award

The Domestic Violence Resource Center's Hannah Humanitarian Award planning committee awarded Reno TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® the HEROS AMONG US award on October 19, 2024. Honorees were selected based on their commitment to supporting domestic violence survivors and their children in the community. The DVRC has been the recipient of the Movers for Mom's campaign for the past 2 years.

MOVERS FOR MOMS April 14- May 5, 2025

Though Mother’s Day is intended to be a joyous occasion for women across the country, thousands of moms will be overlooked on this special holiday because they are forced to live in shelters, or worse, as a result of domestic abuse. Every spring since 2012, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the U.S. have collected donations for local women’s and family shelters for delivery around Mother’s Day. This year will mark the 17th year for the Movers for Moms® program and the 10th year it has been a national program; this will be the 2nd year for the Reno, NV location to participate.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Reno will host the local Movers for Moms® collection drive from April 14 through May 5*, 2025 to provide critical gifts to local individuals who are relying on the Domestic Violence Resource Center located at 1735 Vassar Street in Reno. Movers for Moms® Collection Boxes will be placed at over 25 locations throughout Reno and Sparks so that the community can donate hygiene items and grab-and-go, non-perishable foods. Each box will have a flyer affixed to it that details what items are needed. The flyer will also have a QR code that links directly to the Center’s Amazon Wish List so that donations can also be made easily that way.

Please visit our partners for this program during this time to make a contribution to these boxes from the WISH LIST.

Girl Power

Two Men and a Truck Reno is proud to be a 2021 Star Power Sponsor of Girls on the Run Sierras

Their Mission

Girls on the Run Sierras' mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. The 10-week program meets twice a week, after school, for 90 minutes each session in the spring and fall.

Why It Matters

Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Studies show that by adolescence, girls’ confidence drops about twice as much as boys’. Friendships become more complicated and challenging, girls’ perception of their academic success declines, the likelihood of anxiety and depression increases and participation in physical activity plummets. It doesn’t have to be this way. The Girls on the Run Sierra team believes that every girl is inherently full of power and potential. By knowing they are the leaders of their lives, these are the girls who will change the world!
