Supporting our Wilmington Community

As one of our company core values, we feel passionately about investing into our community. Providing support to local organizations is just one of the many ways we help to do that. We also devote our time to hosting multiple nationally based charity campaigns created by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and organizing donation drives benefiting specific individuals in need.

In September of 2016, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Wilmington participated in the NHRMC Foundation Caring for Kids Radiothon to raise funds used for new medical equipment that will help to ease the pain of receiving injections for children being treated at the medical center. We are so proud to support the wonderful, life-changing work the NHRMC Foundation does, and we are thankful we have the opportunity to give back to our community.

Movers for Moms®

Every year, in honor of Mother's Day, we collect items for the Domestic Violence Shelter of Wilmington for our annual spring Movers for Moms® campaign. This donation drive is a time when we collect essential care and comfort items for local mothers and women who are involved in situations of domestic abuse, or who are battling homelessness. We then deliver those goods to our shelter partner prior to Mother's Day. As our signature collection drive, we feel every mother - no matter the circumstances they find themselves in - deserves to be recognized and supported on Mother's Day.

Please help us support these lovely ladies! Essential care items in high demand include:

-Shampoo, Conditioner, Full-Size Body Wash
-Lotions, Moisturizers, Hair Brushes, Combs
-New Twin Sheet Sets, Toilet Paper, Diapers
-Children's Snacks, Non-Perishable Food, Toilet Paper
-Gas Cards & Gift Cards

Move for hunger

When people move, they often throw out a good deal of “stuff.”  Unfortunately, much of this stuff is food that could be delivered to a family in need, rather than just getting left behind. The crew of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Wilmington is collecting those food items from their customers and delivering them directly to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The service is free to customers and turns every move into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, simply by donating the cans and non-perishables on moving day.

“We are thrilled to have TWO MEN AND A TRUCK of Wilmington join us in the fight against hunger,” says Adam Lowy, Founder and Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “With such devastating hunger statistics at both the local and national level, their efforts will provide crucial support to the food bank’s mission to feed the hungry.”

Junior League of Wilmington, NC

Not only is TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Wilmington proud to partner with the Junior League of Wilmington, N.C., to provide support for their annual Bargain Sale event, we are excited to participate in their seventh annual Touch-A-Truck event!

Touch-A-Truck is an educational community event that will provide children with a hands-on opportunity to see and touch heavy machinery and meet the people who build, protect, and serve the Wilmington community. Kids of all ages will be able to explore vehicles like a fire engine, cement truck, school bus, tow truck, weather truck, bulldozers, and more! For more information on this event and others, please check out the  Junior League of Wilmington's Facebook Page

Movers for Moms®

Each year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations all across the nation set out to collect essential care items for women and mothers seeking shelter at local homeless or domestic abuse victim centers. Our goal is to not only support these women, right here in our community but to celebrate them on Mother's Day. This annual campaign is called Movers for Moms®.

This year, for our annual Movers for Moms® program in honor of Mother's Day, all donations of essential care items will benefit Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Wilmington, NC, which provides emergency shelter and support services for domestic violence victims and their children.

Most needed essential care items on their wish-list include:

  • Toilet Paper
  • New Twin Sheets
  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Full-size Bar Soaps
  • Non-Perishable Food
  • Children's Snacks
  • Diapers
  • Gift Cards
  • Gas Cards
  • Toiletries

We can't thank these generous local businesses and organizations enough for acting as collection sites in our 2019 Movers for Moms® collection drive!
