Community Service in Oakland County

Movers for Moms®

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country take part in the annual campaign, Movers for Moms®. Franchisees partner with local shelters, schools, and other community organizations to collect goods that will make Mother’s Day special for moms living in shelters. Promote your business or organization and become a partner with us. To get involved in Movers for Moms® 2017, your team only needs to commit to receiving collection boxes and to promote the program within your organization. Movers for Mutts

This April, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® in Troy held a donation drive at the Kroger Marketplace in Royal Oak to benefit the local animal shelter I Heart Dogs Rescue and Animal Haven. The haven's mission is to lead the no-kill movement by rescuing, rehabilitating, re-homing, and providing a place of refuge for homeless dogs, while also providing a haven for the pets belonging to domestic violence survivors. We know our furry friends appreciated the essential pet-care items you donated! Thank you to everyone who helped out and to our friends at I Heart Dogs Rescue.

Movers for Meals

During the fall season, we also run our annual Movers for Meals program and work with local schools to collect nonperishable food for families in need around Thanksgiving. Last year we partnered with the Cooley Elementary School in Waterford and the Nexus Academy of Royal Oak. We cannot thank our partners enough for their contributions to a great cause.

Partnerships and Organizations

March of Dimes:

The March of Dimes works to end premature birth and prevent preventable preterm births. In the event of an emergency, they provide information and comfort to the families. Most importantly, they fund research to help prevent and end premature births.

Gleaners Food Bank:

For more than 38 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities.” Last year, Gleaners distributed 34 million pounds of emergency food to more than 510 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties. Gleaners uses 94 cents of every dollar donated for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.

Troy Chamber of Commerce:

The Troy Chamber of Commerce promotes an environment that builds successful businesses and a thriving community. They exemplify leadership through service and regional collaboration. They offer networking, advertising, and sponsorship opportunities along with business development groups. The chamber champions integrity, diversity, innovation and sustainability.

On top of those two campaigns, in 2015 we are sponsoring an aid station for the Detroit Marathon. Look for us at that great event!
