TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns

MOVERS FOR MILITARY

Downriver for Veterans opened its doors in April of 2017 and is already providing food assistance to over 53 area veteran families.  The non-profit was started by Ann Rudisill who is an Air Force veteran.  She saw a need in the community and went to work.  TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is proud to have partnered with Kroger on this event.  Over 1300 pounds of donated items were delivered to the warehouse in Wyandotte, home to Downriver for Veterans.

Movers for Moms®

We joined the Movers for Moms® charity initiative since it began in 2007 and have partnered with Gorno Ford and Abed Orthodontics to collect thousands of household items for the individuals at Monroe Sunrise House(opens in a new window). We have also helped provide thousands of pounds of non-perishable food to Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit each fall which is their busiest time of the year.

Local Partners

DAY OF CARING

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has had the opportunity for the past three years to be involved in the United Way's Day of Caring Event. Over two tons of food were collected to help support local food pantries in Michigan, along with several other initiatives to help seniors and individuals who are not able to rake leaves or perform outside home cleanup projects on their own.

Downriver for Veterans

Downriver for Veterans is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to the people of the Downriver Communities. DFV was started in February of 2017 by Rose Ann Rudisill who is herself an Air Force veteran. She saw that there really were no resources for the veteran population in the downriver area so she went to work to open her own non-profit. DFV provides food, supplies, housing, furniture and a variety of other services to veterans who are in need. Ann is supported by a community of volunteers including TWO MEN AND A TRUCK in Brownstown .

Happy Soles Fun Run to benefit Fish and Loaves Food Pantry

FISH AND LOAVES AND THE GREATER DETROIT FOOD RECOVERY PROGRAM

We began working with Fish and Loaves Food Pantry in Taylor in 2016.  In 2017 we started work on the Detroit Food Recovery Program at Providence Hospital in Southfield.  Our office goes to the hospital twice a month to pick up items for the Fish and Loaves Food Pantry.  What a great way to give back and a great partnership!

This event is sponsored by Fish and Loaves Food Pantry and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is proud to support such a great cause.  This is a fun day for the whole family.  Donations of canned goods for the Fish and Loaves pantry shelves are collected during the run and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®  provides a truck to transport all of the collected items to the food pantry after the conclusion of the run.  We love supporting our local community and seeing our trucks used in such a great way!

Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry

Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry – a faith-based organization staffed by volunteers – has a core belief that nobody should go hungry, and this inspired them to start their food pantry. This pantry serves the needs of residents living in Allen Park, Brownstown Township, Dearborn Heights, Romulus, Southgate, Taylor, and Woodhaven. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® was fortunate enough to partner with this amazing organization when Providence Hospital in Southfield wanted to donate to the pantry but didn’t have the means to transport donations. We were able to make that happen, and continue to do pickup and delivery services from the hospital to the food pantry twice a month. Thank to Fish and Loves for allowing us to be a community partner helping to end hunger in the Downriver area!

March of Dimes

March of Dimes advocates for all moms and babies to have the best possible start together from conception and beyond. March of Dimes’ “March for Moms and Babies” walks raise money to provide the best possible care and research to help build a brighter and healthier future for the next generation. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® continues to lend support to this great event by providing a truck and some helping hands to assist with both the set up and tear down of the event held in Monroe.
