Our Community Involvement
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns
Movers for Mutts®
Hurricane Florence has displaced many pets and we are partnering with the Palm Beach Animal Care and Control shelter and others in the area to help with the influx of these furry friends coming to our area. BiBi's Doggy Boutique 250 Worth Ave has a collection box as well as our West Palm Beach and Wellington locations.
Education Foundation of Palm Beach County
The Education Foundation partners with the School District of Palm Beach County making sure that schools, teachers and students have the tools they need to succeed. Teachers and Principals that have innovative ideas for programming can apply for grant funding through the Foundation. The Education Foundation's signature program, Red Apple Supplies, is a FREE teacher resource store that provides school supplies to teachers in high-needs schools throughout the District.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK- Palm Beach has partnered with the Education Foundation by providing pickup and delivery of donated school supplies from local businesses to Red Apple Supplies, free of charge. We also volunteer our time and provide manpower labor within the warehouse and the Red Apple Supplies Store. Our employees give back to our community and are making a difference right here in Palm Beach County!
FAMILIES FIRST OF PALM BEACH COUNTY
Serving the community for 25 years, Families First of Palm Beach County provides child abuse prevention, health, housing, and behavioral health services for families whose life circumstances impact child and family health and stability.
Families First Toy Drive
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Palm Beach has partnered with Families First for the last decade in providing free or low costs moving services and Joel Dowley has served on the Board of Directors and the Foundation Board. An annual Holiday Toy drive with St. Judes Church in Boca Raton provides toys for the families. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Palm Beach is proud to help by picking up the donated toys and delivering them to Families First.
For over 28 yrs Families First of Palm Beach County has been providing a hand up to families so they can find their way back to self - sufficiency and provide safe loving hoes for their children. Services are directed towards family strengthening, health, behavioral health and housing.
FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS OUTREACH
The purpose of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach is to send care packages and letters of encouragement to our deployed soldiers. Being away from family, friends, and loved ones can take its toll on a soldier, especially when the communication can be difficult and/or lessened during high war times. We need to let them know “they are not forgotten”.
PALMS WEST COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Palms West Community Foundation provides funding for K-12 education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and job creation. Serving all of Palm Beach County by deploying high impact economic development programs to expand small businesses, fuel job growth, and fill our workforce pipeline with young entrepreneurs to prevent regional brain drain and retain the best and brightest leaders of today and tomorrow.
Quantum House is a caring and supportive home that lessens the burden for families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for a serious medical condition. Quantum House opened its doors in May 2001 to families going through a most difficult time. The House continues to be where hope has a home® for more than 500 family members every year. The House is the only hospital hospitality house serving children and their families this way between Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida. Over the years, the House has proudly served families from every state and nearly two dozen countries around the world.
Tree of Life Center
One of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK core values is "Giving Back to the Community". At our West Palm Beach location we look for ways to make our community a better place for all to live. This year we partnered with Tree of Life Center in West Palm Beach and provided a hot breakfast of eggs, sausage & bacon, potatoes, biscuits and sausage gravy to the center. The Tree of Life Center is a 501(C3) restoration house for men, providing housing, food, clothing, medical, education and work to those in need. Helping rehabilitate and restore lives that have been destroyed by drugs, alcohol addiction and homelessness. The program is offered to men from every race, culture and socio-economic level.
