Moving our Community Forward

Movers for Mutts

This fall, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City ran its annual Movers for Mutts campaign, a collection drive to provide essential items to pets and strays living in local shelters.

To assist the animal shelters that provide and care for these animals, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City ran the program from September to November. We worked with local schools, pet supply stores, veterinarian clinics, and business organizations such as Pet Supermarket, EarthWise Pet Supply, Forest Park Animal Hospital, Panama City Beach Chamber, City of Panama City, SweetBay Community, Buddy’s Home Furnishings and several Bay County Schools to collect pet care essentials. More than 550 donations were collected and delivered to The Humane Society of Bay County.

The Humane Society of Bay County is a local non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. They offer a no-kill facility in Bay County, Florida. Their mission is to end the needless destruction of homeless animals in our community by operating a no-kill shelter and providing protection, education, services, and support for companion animals and their families. Movers for Moms®

Every year for our Movers for Moms® Campaign, we distribute supplies for mothers at the Bethel Village Shelter and Rehabilitation Center. Bethel Village is a nonprofit dedicated to helping women and children find refuge during times of financial and emotional need. We are proud to donate our Movers for Moms® items to this shelter, and every Mother’s

Day we see the impact our campaign has on their residents. We are connecting with several local partners this year and hoping we all can bring some warmth and kindness to women staying in shelters this spring!

We are hoping to continue helping the mothers in need again next year!

Charity partnerships and organizations

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City has helped Lighthouse Family Retreat for many years. The organization serves children and their families battling cancer, by hosting close to twenty retreats in Santa Rosa Beach each year. They have helped hundreds of families in their time of need by providing a space to relax, reconnect, and forget about the hardships they face everyday.

We help Lighthouse stage and promote their events by donating trucks and movers’ time on the weekend of the retreats. The men who go out every year say they are proud to be a part of this charity cause.

Our local Big Brothers Big Sisters holds an annual fundraiser, called Corks 'N Canvases. The painting party draws in people from the community to enjoy an evening of art, culture, and wine tasting. We sponsor this event every year, helping the children of our community meet mentors of their own and know a sense of family that they don’t get at home.

The 2017 Corks N’ Canvases was a huge success for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida with over 300 guests attending the event on Friday, Feb. 10th at Harpoon Harry’s! Thanks to all the sponsors who made this event happen! Everyone was dancing and singing along with local favorite band Heritage. A silent and live auction were held during the night to help raise funds for the organization. Big Brothers Big Sisters uses the funds raised from this event to support their local matches in Bay County. They also use the funds to help recruit more mentors to match with the boys & girls currently on the waiting list. Across Northwest Florida, there are over 200 children waiting for a mentor.
