Moving our Community Forward
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns
Movers for Moms®
Every year for our Movers for Moms® Campaign, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Panama City partners with a local women's shelter to support for Mother's Day. They collect essentials and gifts for Mom. For 2019, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Panama City partnered with Longleaf Out Reach and Development's The Evers House. “We help wonderful women have a safe place to live and work towards staying sober, getting their babies back, getting off probation and living a wonderful life,” said Cathy McClellan, Longleaf Out Reach and Development’s Founder. “We appreciate the help and are so grateful.” TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Panama City partners with numerous organizations and businesses in the area to collect these items from the community.
Movers for Mutts®
This fall, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City will hold its annual Movers for Mutts campaign, a collection drive to provide essential items to pets and strays living in local shelters.
To assist the animal shelters that provide and care for these animals, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City hosts the program from September to November. We worked with local schools, pet supply stores, veterinarian clinics, and business organizations such as Pet Supermarket, EarthWise Pet Supply, Forest Park Animal Hospital, Panama City Beach Chamber, City of Panama City, SweetBay Community, Buddy’s Home Furnishings and several Bay County Schools to collect pet care essentials. More than 550 donations were collected and delivered to The Humane Society of Bay County.
The Humane Society of Bay County is a local non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. They offer a no-kill facility in Bay County, Florida. Their mission is to end the needless destruction of homeless animals in our community by operating a no-kill shelter and providing protection, education, services, and support for companion animals and their families. GIRLS INC. INSPIRES ALL GIRLS TO BE STRONG, SMART, AND BOLD
Their comprehensive, intentional after school and out-of-school day programming focuses on the development of the whole girl. A combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment and research-based programming equips girls to lead fulfilling and productive lives, break the cycle of poverty and become role models in their community.
In partnership with schools and at Girls Inc. centers, they focus on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and research-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, they also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities and rights for all girls.
Two Men and a Truck® has been sponsoring Girls Inc and supporting different charity efforts in Bay County, Florida for several years. We are excited to provide opportunities for girls in our community! To see us in action, please visit our Facebook page.
LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY RETREAT
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City has helped Lighthouse Family Retreat for many years. The organization serves children and their families battling cancer, by hosting close to twenty retreats in Santa Rosa Beach each year. They have helped hundreds of families in their time of need by providing a space to relax, reconnect, and forget about the hardships they face everyday.
We help Lighthouse stage and promote their events by donating trucks and movers’ time on the weekend of the retreats. The men who go out every year say they are proud to be a part of this charity cause.
Corks 'N Canvases
Corks 'N Canvases is a wine and craft beer tasting and art auction event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida. Every year, community leaders and everyone who supports Big Brothers Big Sisters gets together for this fun-filled evening complete with live entertainment!
More than 650 children were mentored by a Big Brother or Big Sister in Northwest Florida last year. Of those, 104 were in Bay County. Studies show their mentoring programs have proven positive academic and behavioral outcomes for youth in areas linked to high school graduation, avoidance of juvenile delinquency and college readiness. Mentoring makes a BIG difference in the community!
We are happy to be a part of this celebration event on June 8th. We are always glad for the opportunity to support the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Panama City is the Moving Partner for this annual festival. An adult-alternative rock music festival in Panama City Beach.
