Greater New Haven “MOVERS WHO CARE®”
As “Movers Who Care ®” we seek to improve the communities we serve. Towards this end, we try to help people in need move forward in their lives through collection drives, philanthropic donations, discounted charity moves and, of course, use of our trucks, containers and muscle to support community events. If your organization needs support or if you would like to find out how you can support any of our community service programs, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
TEMPORAY SPECIAL EVENT STORAGE/EVENT OFFICE HUB
It can be challenging to gather and transport special event supplies. And while the event is underway, there can also be a need for a hub away from the elements. With our weather protected 16' x 8' x 8' containers, supplies can be gathered from several different locations and stored in the containers at our warehouse for delivery on the day of the event. Once emptied of staging materials, the containers can be outfitted with extension cord to serve as an office hub or simply provide shelter from the elements for materials and staff. Containers are never used to lug junk so you can be assured of a clean environement for your materials and staff. Containers must be placed on a non-grass , solid surface to avoid lawn damage and ensure stability. Call now to learn more about how our containers can help support your event.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns
Movers for Moms®
Each spring, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country collect essentials for local mothers and children in need. In Greater New Haven, we partner annually with the Yale University's Working Women's Work Network to execute a diaper drive benefiting the women and children served by the New Reach.org. Diapers are not an expense covered by federal aid, and they are an essential item in breaking the poverty chain as women cannot put their children in daycare without diapers. In 2019, the partnership drive collected approximately 7,500 diapers and 5,700 wipes and sundry feminine hygiene paper products from over 20 donation collection centers throughout Yale and the Yale School of Medicine . Separately our essential cleaning supplies drive deliverered for Mother's Day this spring, tapped into the generous Greater New Haven apartment living community to collect over 2000 items to help the moms served by NewReach.org set up their new kitchens as they transition their families from shelters into more stable housing.

National Public Radio
In an effort to support our local community, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is a proud supporter of NPR and it's local affiliate WSHU. We are a sponsor the Morning Edition show and station challenge grant program.
American Cancer Society
When Mary Ellen Sheets, the original founder of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, finished her firs year in business, she celebrated with a donation to the American Cancer Society. Since then, it has been a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK tradition to contribute a dime for every move completed. The kitty is open and we are hope to celebrate our introductory year with a significant donation!
Our goal is to exceed customer expectations from the first call through our final experience survey. So when our clients take the time to share their review and rate our moving service, we reward them with a donation of $2.50 to FirstBook.org, an organization committed to educators in impoverished areas with books to inspire their communities. In these communities, books are a luxury many families cannot afford. Without adequate resources, children cannot learn. Our donation to FirstBook.org is a small action to help break this cycle and move these local communities in need forward.
