When October hits at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, that means it’s time to break out the Boxtumes!
Boxtumes are fun and trendy Halloween costumes created with moving boxes and materials that you probably already have around your home. These DIY Halloween costumes are a great family activity and the perfect way to save some money during the spooky season.
If you love music and are looking to jam around while trick-or-treating this year, then the cassette tape is the costume for you.
Follow along with the video to build this boxtume!
Step 1: The supplies you’ll need are a medium-sized moving box (you may want a smaller or large box depending on how tall you’re), paint, paintbrushes, markers, scissors, a pencil, and string.
Step 2: Take your moving box and sketch out a rectangle. Once you sketch it out, take a pair of scissors and cut out the rectangle.
Step 3: Take white paint, a big paintbrush and paint the whole rectangle that you cut out white. After the paint is dry, go in with black paint and paint the border. Once again, let the paint sit for a while to fully dry.
Step 4: Now paint two white circles in the center and when that dries, take black paint and paint around the two circles, so they’re connected.
Step 5: Now it’s time to get creative! Pick out any paint colors and decorate your cassette tape how you like. Whether that be stripes, adding a title, or any other details you would like.
Step 6: Once everything is dry, poke two holes at the top and cut a piece of string. Tie the string in the two holes and you’re ready to jam out!
