A walk-through should be part of your standard practice. I guesstimated the number of boxes I’d have and they based my estimate on this. Who knows how many boxes you’ll have when you’re still packing? Towards the end of the move, the supervisor told me there was no more room on the truck so I had to dash out and rent a U-Haul. When it was time to pay my bill was $1,000 more than expected.

It took two hours just to have the first piece of furniture moved to the truck. The contents of the furniture, which I was told could stay inside, were spilled out THREE times. I was the one that had to clean it all up and move it myself. This was a very small move and shouldn't have taken much time. There was no urgency, and one of the movers was lazy, slow, and weak compared to the other.
