We believe it is necessary to utilize our professional services and expertise to serve those who are unable to move due to financial, physical, and/or emotional disabilities. With our continued efforts in volunteerism and dedicated community service, we are happy to assist in the development of our local community and continue watching Memphis flourish beautifully.
As active members of the Greater Memphis Chamber(opens in a new window) and the Collierville Chamber of Commerce(opens in a new window), TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis is very involved in living up to our core value of giving back to the community, and helping move the community forward!
Mother's Day should always be a special holiday celebrated by each and every mother - regardless of her circumstances. Each spring, our franchise is proud to participate within one of our largest corporate campaigns, MOVERS FOR MOMS®(opens in a new window) , reconfirming our core principles of volunteerism and giving back to the community. In an effort to promote this vision, we at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis partner with local businesses to collect essential care items for women and children who are victims of domestic assault and homelessness. The items collected will be delivered to our longtime partnering foundation, and YWCA of Greater Memphis(opens in a new window) ,on/before Mother's Day. In 2018, the entire TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system collected over 365,000 donation items for moms in need across the country; and since the beginning of the MOVER FOR MOMS® program, we have collected over 1,000,000 items!
Annually, DFT hosts a plethora of stage productions and Summer Theatre Camp, in order to encourage all children to pursue their dreams helps with building confidence, and lifelong skill sets that are sure to impact their future career paths. This year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis will be assisting DFT with various operations and logistics needs prior to the theatre showcases, including transporting supplies, stage equipment and needed items for the participants and coordinators; and afterwards with loading and unloading items back to original location.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore(opens in a new window) are independently owned reuse stores operated by local Habitat for Humanity(opens in a new window) organizations that accepts donations and sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building supplies and housewares at discount prices. Each and every purchase at the Memphis ReStore helps local families build strength, stability and self-reliance through decent, affordable shelter — a good deal for you, your community and the environment!
We had the amazing opportunity to assist our local Restore location by loading, transporting, and unloading (large) donations provided by local community partners and businesses.
The mission of the Mid-South Food Bank is to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. By providing food for families, children and seniors, the Foodbank impacts lives by solving one of the biggest struggles they face: getting enough nutritious food to eat to live a healthy life. As the local 'Movers Who Care®', we work alongside the Food Bank to assist with the logistics and operational needs associated with picking up and transporting donated food items to their storage facility. Additionally, some of our employees volunteer their time regularly with the Food Bank by collecting cans and assisting on major days of donation at the location.
The Cooper-Young Festival, hosted by the Cooper-Young Business Association (CYBA), is Memphis' most anticipated outdoor celebration and is presently held within Memphis' largest historic district. In its 31st year, over 130,000 guests will enjoy an appealing mix of arts, music, and various crafts presented by over 435 artisans from around the country.
This year, the festivities will kickoff with the Cooper Young Festival Friday 4miler(opens in a new window) , a 4miler race, and various other celebrations throughout the duration of the weekend. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis will participate as an official sponsor of the race and will be assisting with operations and logistics needs prior to the race, including transporting food, supplies, and needed items to and from the racing site for the participants and coordinators.
Each August, Elvis fans from around the world travel to Graceland for Elvis Week, a celebration of the timeless music, movies, and legacy of Elvis Presley. This year, the festivities will be celebrating the 36th Annual Elvis Presley 5K(opens in a new window) with a 5k run, and post-race party through the Graceland area benefiting Livitup, Inc.(opens in a new window) . The Misson of LivItUp, Inc. is to affect positively the quality of life for persons with cerebral palsy, and also others with severe disabilities and multiple service needs, and the families of both; to prevent cerebral palsy and minimize its effects; and to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy or other disabilities. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis will be assisting with operations and logistics needs prior to the race, including transporting food, supplies, and needed items to and from the racing site for the participants and coordinators.
We are pleased to announce that we will be assisting A-One Staffing, LLC. with their 2018 Gifts of Love program. A-One Staffing(opens in a new window) specializes in providing our clients with temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire employees in various fields such as information technology, clerical, administrative, and industrial positions. Every year, their nonprofit organization, Gifts of Love Inc., focuses their efforts on collecting food, clothing, and toys benefiting families and less-fortunate individuals within our Memphis community in time for the holidays. The program provides various supplies to local families throughout the year, including backpacks filled with supplies to children in August, Thanksgiving dinner to the needy in November, and an Annual Christmas Food Drive. In 2017, over 675 boxes and 550 bags were distributed.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis has the honor of loading and transporting all of the donated gifts and delivering the items to local families within the local Memphis community. Additionally, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis donated 74 collection boxes for local business partners to collect/store their holiday donation gifts.
The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest(opens in a new window) is a major component of the 'Memphis In May' International Festival(opens in a new window), an annual month-long festival which honoring a specific foreign country every year and features many different events, music, and food. The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest has become one of America's most prestigious barbecue competition and is celebrating its 41st year in 2018. We had the opportunity to participate as race sponsors in 2018, and again in 2019, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Memphis will provide 10 portable storage containers to the Memphis In May team and its contestants to store needed items and supplies while preparing for the festivities.
A charitable contribution that we have had the opportunity to be apart of is the " Fox 13 School Supply Drive", benefiting United Way of the Midsouth(opens in a new window) . United Way of the Midsouth's mission is to improve the quality of life for Mid-southerners by mobilizing and aligning community resources to address priority issues. Education is vital, and the teachers and students within the Memphis area benefit greatly from this annual School Supply Drive and the various items donated by members of the community.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has honor of loading and transporting all of the donated school supplies and delivering the items to students within the local Memphis community. In addition to providing labor and transportation, we will donate boxes for school supply storage. This year, we will donate approximately $2,000.000 in moving services, labor, and packing supplies.

And if you want it to go faster, put a clear path

A lot of times it comes, um, very unexpectedly.
Um, so they have to make, um, a very quick decision.
Um, and sometimes it's not the most informed, um,
and those that can make it very difficult.

whoever you choose can do everything you need, whether that's, you know, getting rid of any items you don't want anymore,
whether they can move every item that you have, you know, some moving companies may not be able to move certain things.
So a lot of people wanna be sure they choose a moving company that, you know, they could fully trust.

Uh A lot of customers have, you know, they're always gonna have questions

So they'll be able to, you know, reach out to us and ask us if you don't have a good communication to start in the day, then things get kind of confusing.

Um for instance, for addresses and things like that or like even getting like carpet shield down for them just to make sure that their homes protected.
It's not um it's not a good thing to have them in the, in the dark about things.
It's good to be as open as you can with them and be as comfortable as you can with them just to kind of get them through the Day.

My house is full of potted plants.

How would the movers handle those?

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK doesn't transport any living things including plants and animals, depending on the weather.
Our trucks can get very hot or very cold inside.
There's also a lack of good air flow in the trucks.
Please be sure to make other arrangements for moving your pets and plants.

I'm concerned my frozen food will thaw in your truck during the move.
What should I do?

For a variety of reasons Two men in a truck can't move perishable items including fresh refrigerated and frozen foods.
These items can rot spoil and smell in the truck.
Try to plan your meals to minimize the amount of food you have left.

Come moving day, you will be responsible for transporting it or giving it away.

What personal items should I plan to move myself?

We recommend cash, jewelry, photographs and important papers be taken with you as well as other items that may have strong
sentimental value.
