Movers for Moms® Drive to Help Mothers in Need This Mother’s Day. Community-Supported Program Aids Moms Who Need a Little Extra Support this Spring

Mother’s Day is a special time when moms worldwide should feel loved and appreciated. For many women, this may not be the case as this holiday may be overlooked due to finances, personal struggles, or living situations where they’re relying on the support of shelters or other organizations due to homelessness or domestic abuse.

To ensure moms in need receive the love and appreciation they deserve this Mother’s Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Tri-Cities is hosting its annual Movers for Moms® campaign to provide essential care items to The Oasis Of Kingsport.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, more than 10 million adults experience domestic violence annually, and on a typical day more than 19,000 calls are received by the domestic violence hotlines nationwide. Statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence also state that one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.

This year, the Tri-Cities moving company is teaming up with local community partners like Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, Bellafina Chocolates, Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter, RIPL Creative, & ETSU Athletics to collect essential care items for The Oasis Of Kingsport.

“The mission of the Oasis of Kingsport is to encourage and equip women of all ages and demographics through faith-centered support, education, and fellowship; setting an atmosphere for encouragement, growth, and overall transformation.”

The Movers for Moms® campaign gives our local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise the opportunity to give back to the community, and to show our appreciation for the wonderful support since opening in August 2024.

Statement from Van Dunn, Franchise Owner – “The Movers For Moms® campaign is personal for our family, In 2010, my sister was involved in an abusive relationship and was tragically murdered.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns

Movers for Moms®

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we are dedicated to giving back to our communities. Every spring, our Annual MOVERS FOR MOMS® campaign gathers essential care items for women’s and family shelters. In 2023, this nationwide effort spanned 48 states, collecting and distributing over 443,000 items to help women and families in need. Our Tri-Cities franchise has partnered with The Oasis of Kingsport.  "The mission of the Oasis of Kingsport is to encourage and equip women of all ages and demographics through faith-centered support, education, and fellowship; setting an atmosphere for encouragement, growth, and overall transformation."

We wrapped up our first Movers for Moms® campaign, collecting 1275 items that we dropped off to the Oasis of Kingsport. Thanks to our community partners; Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, Bellafina Chocolate, Town Park Lofts, Tri-Cities Center For Cosmetic Dentistry, Powell Valley Bank, Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union, ETSU Baseball, Kingsport Gellyball.

Stuff a Truck Event to Support Movers for Moms® campaign

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Partners with ETSU Baseball for “Stuff A Truck” Event Supporting Local Women in Need

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® joined forces with East Tennessee State University Baseball to host a meaningful Stuff A Truck event during the ETSU vs. UNC Greensboro series. This initiative was part of the national Movers for Moms® campaign, which supports women in crisis during the Mother’s Day season. Baseball fans were invited to attend the game and bring along essential items to donate in support of The Oasis of Kingsport. The response from the ETSU baseball community was nothing short of incredible—fans answered the call with an outpouring of needed items to benefit the women served by Oasis.

The collected donations will go directly to The Oasis of Kingsport, a local nonprofit whose mission is “to encourage and equip women of all ages and demographics through faith-centered support, education, and fellowship; setting an atmosphere for encouragement, growth, and overall transformation.” Thanks to the generosity of the community and the partnership between TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and ETSU Baseball, the event made a real and lasting impact for local women in need.
