Serving the Jackson Community

MOVERS FOR MOMS®

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country collect donations for women every spring and deliver them to local women’s and family shelters on or before Mother’s Day. Franchises partner with local shelters, schools, and other community organizations to collect goods that will make Mother’s Day special for moms living in shelters. This annual campaign is called Movers for Moms®. This year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®  will pick up and deliver the collected items to Catholic Charities Jackson around Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8. All items are welcome; however, much-needed items include:
  • Baby wipes
  • Newborn diapers
  • Baby shampoo
  • Baby bibs
  • Blankets
  • Bath soaps
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste & Toothbrushes
  • Hair brushes
  • $5.00 Dignity Cards (Dollar Tree, Walmart, etc.)

Last year we donated over 500 items to Catholic Charities and we are hoping to make it even bigger this year. If you are intrested in becoming a collection partner or want additional information, please contact Shelby Taylor at shelby.taylor@twomen.com or call our office.

MOVERS FOR MEALS

movers for meals jackson, ms TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Jackson collects canned goods and non-perishable food items to support a local food bank. We collect items every fall from the beginning of October through the week before Thanksgiving. The purpose of the Movers for Meals program is to recognize and support the thousands of people across Mississippi that rely on food assistance each year. In our third annual MOVERS FOR MEALS program we will be collecting items for Our Daily Bread, which is located in Canton, MS. Our Daily Bread is committed to strengthening their community by providing food assistance to residents of Madison County.

This year, with the help of community partners, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® hopes to collect as many cans as possible; and will in turn match all items donated. These community partners will serve as drop off points for canned goods and non-perishable food items. Last year we donated over 1,500 items to the Care Center; and we hope to continue supporting the fight against hunger.

American Cancer Society Tennis Classic

The American Cancer Society is the largest voluntary health organization in the nation, dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer.  Established in 1913, the Society is the only non-profit organization fighting cancer on all fronts.  It is the nation’s largest private, non-profit source of cancer research funds and has contributed nearly $4 billion to cancer research.

Your support of the local American Cancer Society is an integral part of bringing HOPE to Jackson and the rest of the world.  All monies raised at this event are used to help sustain the American Cancer Society’s mission by further funding research, advocacy, education and services.

In August of 2015 TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Jackson lost one of its own, Becky Taylor, wife of franchisee Jeff Taylor ended her five year battle with  cancer. Last year in 2015, we took part in the American Cancer Society Tennis Classic tournament, honoring Becky. In its second year, we hope to make it bigger and better than ever before.

Emily Sham, Marketing and Sales Manager, is the event chair for the second year in a row. One of the best parts of being a part of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system is the family culture. When Becky passed away we lost a family member and living our core value of giving back to the community we are proud to support this event, in her honor.

This year the tournament is in memory of Becky and is honoring a local cancer fighter, Anna Hill. Anyone can donate to the event, or can choose to become a sponsor. If there are any additional questions about the tournament please email emily.sham@twomen.com or visit acstennisclassic.com.
