Movers Who Care about our Waterford Community

Since we were welcomed into the community in 1999, it has been our mission to move the community forward. Along with our Movers for Moms® program, we partner and donate our labor and time to different groups throughout the community that we feel have the same strong foundation and Core Values that we established our business on. We are also in the Waterford Chamber of Commerce and Clarkston Chamber of Commerce, where we have the opportunity to be present in the community. Giving Back To The Community is one of our Core Values and something we believe strongly in, the community believes in us equally as much as we believe in our community!

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns

Movers for Moms®

One of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s Core Values is Giving Back to the Community and that has been engrained in our company since the beginning. Our MOVERS FOR MOMS® program is in the ninth year and is stronger than ever. We partner each year with community businesses such as Stepanki Early Childhood Center, The Breakie Bunch, Circle Time Childcare, Oakland Yard Athletics, MSUFCU, Aspect Properties, and Lakeland Highschool to collect essential items to donate to Grace Centers of Hope and other organizations that work with domestic violence victims. In 2017, we collected a total of 4,004 items, and we look forward to continuing our program for years to come. If you and your business would like to participate please give us a call, we would love to have you join our team.

BOTTLES FOR THE BABIES

The city of Flint was struck with a disaster with the occurrence of the Flint Water Crisis. A group of mothers formed a grassroots effort  called Bottles for the Babies and began raising money to bring water to those in need that were not being helped by government distribution sites such as those that are immobile. We gladly donated our trucks to help distribute water to those in need on behalf of Bottles for the Babies. Though this crisis did not immediately effect our community, there were many donors from the Oakland area that donated the resources we were able to deliver. We are extremely blessed to be able to help such a great group of people in their drive to help those in need.

GRACE CENTERS OF HOPE

Grace Centers of Hope was established in 1942. It has since grown and evolved into the largest and oldest faith-based outreach to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families. Grace Centers of Hope provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Each year we donate essential items collected during our Movers for Moms® program to help with their mission.

HUMBLE DESIGN

The past few years we have worked and supported Humble Design by donating our moving services to help deliver furniture to families in need. We also partner with them for our Movers for Moms® campaign, and furniture we collect goes directly to help furnish the home of someone less fortunate. Their aim is to assist families coming out of homeless and abuse shelters with the process of rebuilding their home lives. We are thrilled to be able to work with Humble Design to help members of our community.

MOVING FOR HOPE

Did you know that about 30% of everyones grocery list goes toward non-food items? Since Oakland HOPE will be focused on providing fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, and canned goods to the community through their "client-choice" food pantry, we have made it our mission to help collect the other 30% of their grocery needs. This includes items such as napkins, plates, laundry detergent, diapers, and much much more. Through our Moving for HOPE campaign, we are collecting donations and fundraising to help their food pantry be a successful operation. Would you like to get involved? Give us a call or message us on Facebook to make a difference!

OAKLAND HOPE

For the past couple of years we have grown to known and support an amazing faith based organization called Oakland HOPE. They are in the process of opening a one stop shop that will allow those down on their luck to have access to resources. Whether they need mentorship, food for their family or a class to learn how to prepare healthy alternatives, Oakland HOPE aims to make the community a better place while working to end hunger! Their thrift shop helps them become a self-funded non-profit and we are proud to work with them and help them in their endeavors.

TOYS FOR TOTS

This past year we had the privilege of providing our services to pick up donations at donation sites for the Toys for Tots program and delivering them to a central location in the Oakland County community. Toys for Tots is a national campaign that partners with community members to collect toys to distribute to less fortunate children during the holiday season.
