Moving our Community Forward

We’ve served the Rochester Community since 1999 and in 2015, proudly opened a brick and mortar office in the Rochester area. Since the founding of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the principle of giving back to the community has been engraved in our actions. Through the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce, we are very active members in our community. Mary Ellen, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s founder, donated her first $1,000 of revenue to 10 different charities. It is our goal to continue that generosity to continue to help those in need and move the Rochester community forward.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns

Movers for Meals

2016 was the first year TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® of North Oakland County hosted Movers for Meals. We partnered with the community to collect household items to donate to Oakland HOPE. Unlike the usual collection of food and non-perishable items, Oakland HOPE's needs are slightly different. With the opening of their thrift store to help self-fund their food pantry, they need a heavy stock to have a great selection for their store. We collected household goods and gently-used clothing from September through the end of November for donation to Oakland HOPE. The funds raised from these items went directly to helping end hunger in Oakland County. If you would like to donate in our 2017 Movers for Meals program, please reach out to our office. We would love to have your support!

Movers for Moms®

Giving back to the community is in the foundation of our company. Our annual charity campaign, called Movers for Moms®, is in its tenth year and is stronger than ever. We partner each year with community businesses such as Stepanki Early Childhood Center, The Breakie Bunch, Circle Time Childcare, Oakland Yard Athletics, MSUFCUAspect Properties, and Lakeland Highschool to collect essential items to donate to local shelters and organizations that work with domestic violence victims. All of this is done is coordination with our Waterford location to help bring resources to those who need it most. We look forward to continuing our program for years to come. If you and your business would like to participate, please give us a call — we would love to have you join our team.

Local Partners

GRACE CENTERS OF HOPE

Grace Centers of Hope was established in 1942 and has since grown and evolved into the largest and oldest faith-based outreach to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families. Grace Centers of Hope provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women, and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Each year we donate essential items collected during our Movers for Moms® program to help with their mission.

HUMBLE DESIGN

The past few years we have worked and supported Humble Design by donating our moving services to help deliver furniture to families in need. We also partner with them for our Movers for Moms® campaign, and furniture we collect goes directly to help furnish the home of someone less fortunate. Their aim is to assist families coming out of homeless and abuse shelters with the process of rebuilding their home lives. We are thrilled to work with Humble Design and support members of our community.

MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER

The American Cancer Society, an organization determined to help end breast cancer, hosts a several mile walk in Rochester Municiple Park every year to bring awareness to breast cancer. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a way for the community to come together and show support for breast cancer survivors. We are priveledged to donate our man power and trucks to aid in the set-up and take-down of this major event. It is a blessing to be involved in such a uniting event, and we look forward to the many years in the future that we will be partnering with The American Cancer Society.

MOVING FOR HOPE

In our mission to support the "client-choice" food pantry of  Oakland HOPE, we are collecting non-food items in our Moving for HOPE campaign. These non-food items, like napkins, diapers, paper plates, and dish soap are essential to help their organization strive. We are partnering with Printboys Digital Printing and Sycamore Creek Apartments to collect donations. Do you feel the desire to make a difference in the lives of those struggling in Oakland County? Call us or message us on Facebook to find out more!

OAKLAND HOPE

For the past couple of years we have grown to known and support an amazing faith based organization called Oakland HOPE. They are in the process of opening a one-stop shop that will allow those down on their luck to have access to resources. Whether they need mentorship, food for their family, or a class to learn how to prepare healthy alternatives, Oakland HOPE aims to make the community a better place while working to end hunger! Their thrift shop will help them become a self-funded non-profit and we are proud to work with them and help them in their endeavors.

ROCHESTER AREA NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE

Rochester Area Neighborhood House is a nonprofit human service organization founded by communities of faith in 1968 which assists our neighbors in the community during times of hardship. They partner with the community and other social service providers to help those neighbors toward self-sufficiency. This past year, we had the pleasure of donating our services to deliver donated items to a family in need they were helping. We 100% believe in everything Rochester Area Neighborhood House does and we look forward to assisting them for years to come.
