TWO MEN AND A TRUCK gives back to Jackson

The Jackson team believes in helping out the communities that we serve.  In the past we have worked with organizations such as The Aware Shelter, Community Food Bank and Toys for Tots to make our community stronger in the best way we can.  Trucks and experienced movers can make an impact on the lives of those who need help and we intend to do exactly that.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns

Jackson MDHHS The Angel Tree Project

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK of Jackson partners with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to help kids in need have a Merry Christmas. The Angel Tree Project is coordinated and executed by Angela Guadagnini of MDHHS. The drive lets kids in need identify items that they want for Christmas but without some assistance, families can't afford them. The requests are then collected and assigned to generous volunteers and donors who buy and wrap the presents. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK of Jackson then picks up all the donations from multiple locations throughout the Jackson area. The partnership, now in its 5th year, has seen major growth over the past few years. What started as a one-day collection with one truck and a two-man crew has become a multi-day effort with over 20 locations to pick up and deliver to their final distribution location. We are proud to serve a project that gives back to the community that supports us and makes some deserving kids' Holidays special.

Mover for Meals collected

Movers for Meals®

We have completed collection and delivery of the 2019 Movers for Meals® food drive, which benefitted the Jackson Food Pantry(opens in a new window) and Jackson Interfaith Shelter. We were able to collect over 600 pounds of food this year to benefit the at risk Jackson Community and exceeded our goal for this years program to help even more of our friends and neighbors.

Each year, we provide trucks and movers to transport donations for the holiday Toys for Tots program and lend support to the Salvation Army. We have also in years past sponsored Sharp Park Academy’s Youth Fitness and Fundraising event, known as Spabstacle.

We have also helped a drive to collect and deliver bottled water drive to benefit the citizens of Flint, Michigan during their 2016 Lead Contamination Crisis. We continue to be involved with local family events such as the Jackson Rose Parade and Zombie Walk Jackson.

Movers for Moms®

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK of Jackson has a long history with the now national Movers for Moms® campaign.  This donation drive is approaching quickly and directly helps abused women and children in the Jackson, MI area.  The Aware Shelter of Jackson houses as risk mothers and children who are victims of domestic violence. We will soon be releasing the list of 2017 Mover for Moms® donation centers. Movers for Moms® collects items that help families build a new life after escaping a dangerous home situation, sometimes with only the clothes on their back. Numerous schools and businesses have helped during the 10+ years of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK's involvement in the program.

We would like to thank our 2019 Movers for Moms Partners and Donation locations:

Movers for Mutts®

This was our first year running the MOVERS FOR MUTTS® program, which was created by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK to help local animal shelters or organizations that care for and foster stray animals. This drive is hosted each fall and partners with local businesses, schools, and organizations to collect food, toys, and other essential items pets may need while waiting for their forever homes. With the help of our 5 local partners, we were able to collect a total of 500 items to donate to the Jackson County Animal Shelter(opens in a new window)

Stuff the Truck Event

We here at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Jackson have had a nearly 20 year relationship with The Salvation Army and its Toys for Tots holiday toy collection drive.  This year with team from Hit Music K105.3 and NewsTalk 970 radio stations for the Stuff the Truck Event at Blains Farm and Fleet here in Jackson. The 2019 change of venue brought in a new group of donators and while honoring the many organizations and individuals that had made previous Toy Donation drives so successful. Thousands of toys and cash donations make sure that local needy children have something under the tree on Christmas Morning.  In years past we have also helped pick up the toys from local donation centers for delivery to the Salvation Army. Just one more way during the Holidays we can be "The Movers Who Care®".
