Community Involvement

Movers for Moms® is a nationwide campaign that all TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises across the country participate in, aiming to bring a joyous Mother’s Day to all mothers in each and every community. Here in Lake Charles, La., we partner with The Oasis Women’s Shelter in an effort to collect and donate various items to the moms living in or using the shelter’s facilities. Numerous businesses around the Lake Charles area allow us to set up Movers for Moms® donation boxes in their offices and work places to collect essential care items to then be donated to The Oasis. From April until the week before Mother’s Day, we promote the campaign through many different media outlets and by word of mouth to those in the community in hopes that they will jump on board to help provide a wonderful Mother’s Day to the moms in our community. This year, we collected over 2,000 items, including toiletries, makeup, hair accessories, clothes, shoes, first aid items, towels and sheets, and much more. Movers for Moms® is a great way to get involved in the community for not only TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, but for other businesses and organizations in Lake Charles as well.

We are thrilled to be a sponsor for the Junior League of Lake Charles’ annual Touch a Truck event. We have the opportunity to bring our big moving truck out to the grounds and open up our doors for all the kids to see and play in. Our movers truly enjoy hanging out with all the children and showing them what it’s like to work inside one of our moving trucks. Touch a Truck gives these children an opportunity to dig deep into each truck and see what’s behind closed doors, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something so special.

As a member of the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance, we find various ways to stay active in our community. The Chamber SWLA is one of the Top Ten Economic Development Groups in the United States and also received 5-Star Accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, putting us in the top 1% of chambers nationwide. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Lake Charles is proud to serve the Southwest Louisiana region and be a voice in the community.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Lake Charles is an Affiliate member of the Southwest Louisiana Association of Realtors. As an affiliate member, we are involved with numerous events benefiting the local real estate agents. We sponsor events such as the SWLAR Real Estate Invasion, the SWLAR Fish Fry, and expo at numerous monthly General Member Meetings. Being part of the SWLAR is a rewarding way to give back to the community by working closely with other businesses who are Affiliate members as well as the Lake Charles real estate agents.
