Serving the Lexington Community

Our 2021 Movers for Moms® campaign wrapped up in May. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK was able to donate over 300 items to Refuge for Women Lexington, KY location. Refuge for Women is a safe house and transition living facility for women who were involved in sex trafficking. Thanks to several partner collection sites in 3 different counties, even during a pandemic we were able to provide household supplies to Refuge for Women. We love having the opportunity to give back to the communities in which we live and work. 

KVC Kentucky, headquartered in Lexington, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit child welfare and behavioral healthcare organization that provides behavioral health services, foster care, family preservation and diversion, and other family-related services. Their services are in-home, strengths-based, and driven by a focus on the safety, permanency, and wellbeing of the child and family.  TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Lexington donates moves to this organization.  

Refuge for Women is a non-profit that provides specialized long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. The organization offers up to twelve months of safe housing, at no charge to the resident. The organization has expanded since 2009 to seven states, including Kentucky. They provide services ranging from overcoming addiction to financial planning. Refuge for Women Kentucky is also our receiving charity partner for our Movers for Moms® event that occurs every May to celebrate the mothers we love. 

Given their important efforts, for every returned Moving Survey, we donate $1 to Refuge for Women Kentucky! 

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lexington’s trained and supervised volunteers advocate through the family court system to ensure all victims of child abuse and neglect are provided a safe and permanent home. We donate a dollar to this organization for every reply card we receive at the Lexington location.

We are committed to supporting local schools and organizations by donating our “Day of the Move” baskets to their fundraisers each year. We donated baskets to 15 fundraisers with moving gift certificates totaling $5000. We also offer free boxes and tape to our community schools to make packing up for the summer a little easier.

The mission of The Nest is to provide a safe place for education, counseling, and support to children and families in crisis.  They are different than most nonprofits by the way they focus on four separate programs that work together using a holistic approach for the whole family. We donate moves, furniture, boxes, and our time helping with various activities.  

One Parent Scholar House is a program for single parents who are full-time students in a post-secondary educational institution. The primary purpose of the program is to help parents and their young children develop the educational and family life skills needed to achieve self-sufficiency.  TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Lexington has donated gift bags to the parents and furniture for apartments.  

The Hope Center cares for homeless and at-risk persons by providing life-sustaining and life-rebuilding services that are comprehensive and address underlying causes. We have helped both the men's and women's shelter with furniture.  

No Kill Central Kentucky’s mission is to foster the well-being of all animals through C.A.R.E.S.: Compassion, Adoption, Responsibility, Education, & Spay/Neuter. Our team has also moved furniture for the animal shelter and crates for adoption events.
