A Spooktacular Time at the Crystal Lake Park District’s Truck-or-Treat!

The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Crystal Lake staff had an absolute blast at the recent Truck-or-Treat event, hosted by the Crystal Lake Park District! It was a fun-filled morning with families, costumes, and plenty of Halloween spirit (and candy!). Our moving truck was a monster hit — literally! Our crew showed up dressed as a friendly Bigfoot, and the kids couldn’t get enough. From high-fives and photos to grabbing some sweet treats, it was nonstop smiles all around. We loved being part of such a creative event that brings the community together in such a fun way. Huge thanks to the Crystal Lake Park District for hosting another amazing Truck-or-Treat — we’re already looking forward to next year! Until then, we’ll be keeping our monster costumes ready and our trucks rolling. 

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK | Crystal Lake was honored to help sponsor The Big Fall Swing annual golf outing, benefiting Big Brother Big Sisters of McHenry County. It was a beautiful day on the links at Boulder Ridge County Club in Lake in the Hills. Several members of our management team were able to make it out for the event. It was a great day for a great cause!

Word on the street is that we made the Nice List again this year. Maybe it’s the way we treat our customers like we would our own Grandmas. Or because we lent a few extra hands helping local seniors decorate for the holidays. Whatever good deeds landed us there, we’re excited about the holiday season!

Midwest winters can be dreary at times, but TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Crystal Lake is spreading a little sunshine to local seniors. We’ve been scheduling Customer Appreciation Days at senior living communities throughout the area to help with odd jobs (think flipping mattresses, re-arranging furniture, getting things in and out of storage…). We love to help when we can, and the residents enjoy checking things off their to-do lists. Community love for the win!

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we’re known for following the GRANDMA RULE®: to treat everyone as you would want your own grandma to be treated. It’s one of the reasons we have such great relationships with so many senior living communities. When one of them recently invited our Crystal Lake staff to attend their Health & Wellness Fair, we happily accepted. It was a great event; residents from Clarendale of Algonquin and members of the public came together for an afternoon of free health screenings, raffles, and games provided by various vendors. Most of the seniors we talked with easily recognized our logo, and many had used TWO MEN AND A TRUCK themselves. It was a fun day, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make those connections and promote health & for seniors at the same time.

What’s summer without a carnival? Staff members from our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Crystal Lake office recently had some summer fun at the Carnival Day Fundraiser, hosted by Cedarhurst of Woodstock Senior Living. Our team showed up to help with games and prizes for their residents, employees, friends and families. We brought along some of our most sought-after TWO MEN AND A TRUCK swag, too: beach balls and Frisbees for the kids, and Truckie coffee cups and jar openers for the adults. Everyone went home happy! All proceeds went directly to the Alzheimer’s Association, which made the day even more special. A great way to spend a summer afternoon!

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Crystal Lake, we believe that local businesses succeed when they give back to the communities they serve. As the new school year begins, we’re excited to continue supporting the athletic programs and students of Community High School District 155; our advertising partnerships with their booster club help provide funding for activities and expenses such as uniforms, equipment and travel for the Cary Grove Trojans, Crystal Lake Central Tigers, Crystal Lake South Gators and Prairie Ridge Wolves. We’re inspired by the commitment these teams display every season. Please join us as we celebrate another year of academic and athletic excellence, moving forward together!

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Crystal Lake, we’re committed to more than just moving and storage  — we’re dedicated to making a positive impact on our community.

Recently, we had the opportunity to team up with our sister company, TWO MEN AND A JUNK TRUCK® in North Aurora, for their very first End of Summer Warehouse Sale. The goal? Landfill diversion through reuse. By offering gently used furniture and home décor at unbeatable prices, the event encouraged everyone to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Our team helped organize and stage items, assist shoppers, and load vehicles. It was a true collaboration that supported sustainability but also gave us valuable experience as we prepare to help with similar events at the new TWO MEN AND A JUNK TRUCK Crystal Lake location. It’s a wrap!

Our annual Movers for Moms® donation drive has wrapped for 2026. We couldn’t do it every year without help from the community. Our generous partners not only hosted donation boxes, but also did an amazing job of spreading the word and encouraging participation. We can’t thank them enough. 

All in all, over 500 essential items were collected from the wish lists, including cleaning and food storage supplies, paper products and toiletries. Our team spent the week before Mother’s Day collecting and prepping everything for delivery. We take time to sort, label and pack everything so that the shelters don’t need to spend any resources organizing the haul (plus we’re pretty good at it). 

Deliveries were made just before the Mother Day’s Weekend, to Mutual Ground in Aurora and Turning Point Domestic Violence Services in Woodstock. It’s our small way of making the holiday a little brighter for someone who might need it. 

Since 1997, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations have been supporting mothers and families through the Movers for Moms® program. It’s one of our favorite times of year, and we look forward to continuing to work with these amazing agencies for many years to come.

Sending out a giant THANK YOU to all the local businesses and community members who helped make our Movers for Mutts® donation campaign a success this year. Together, we collected over seven hundred essential items for the animals at Helping Paws of Woodstock and Anderson Humane in Elgin; this included almost one hundred and fifty pounds of dry dog food and three hundred servings of cat pate. Delivery was made just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, giving us all one more reason to be grateful this season. 

Movers for Mutts® is more than just collecting donations; it is an annual display of our community’s generosity. From pet beds and food to blankets and toys, every item donated makes a difference. Visit each shelter’s website for ways to support their work year-round.

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® we believe in giving back to the communities that support us. One of our favorite ways to do this is by participating in local Touch-A-Truck events throughout the Fox Valley. Most recently, our staff had the opportunity to connect with families in the Batavia community; it was the perfect day to show off our truck and promote our moving and storage services at the same time. As a locally owned and operated company, we have a genuine commitment to community pride and service (and we’re pretty sure the kids had a great time, too!). It’s one of the many reasons we’re thrilled to assist the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program each year. Our team looks forward to helping with pickups and deliveries, making it easier to distribute all the wonderful donations in the Fox Valley. During the Christmas holiday season, it brings great joy to set up and take down Christmas trees within the Holmstad community.  Every year the residents await our arrival and watch us as we assemble about 20 artificial Christmas trees. They are always so excited to see us and we are excited to be able to help. Seeing their smiling faces every year is priceless.
