Involvement in our Des Moines Community.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® of Des Moines supports the Movers for Moms® program. Through this annual drive, we partner with all area HyVee Stores, KDSM Fox 17 to collect items for women in need to provide to the Iowa Children and Family Services(opens in a new window). This drive happens yearly, ending the weekend following Mother's Day.

Movers for Moms® is a national program that all TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises participate in. We recognize moms in crisis on Mother's Day by arranging special delivery of essential care items to women living in local shelters.

Donations include shampoos, conditioners, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, lotions, sunscreen, makeup, towels, blankets, pillows, and bedsheets.

We thank all of our partners who offered their stores as collection sites and those in the community who donated items in 2021!

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is a business partner with Project Iowa. Project IOWA is a non-profit organization that offers support and training services to Iowans seeking better careers. They believe that everyone has something of value to offer and has the potential to improve their own lives, no matter what their circumstances or background.

The Young Women’s Resource Center is a non-profit organization that supports, educates and advocates for young women ages 10-21. Freedom for Youth Ministries, founded in Des Moines in 2003, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit on a mission to reach Iowa's lost and hurting youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Des Moines donates moving services for the Freedom for Youth(opens in a new window). 

Candeo supports adults with disabilities in the Polk County area to live and work independently in their community. Inspiring them to achieve their goals. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Des Moines donates moving services for the Candeo(opens in a new window). 

Amanda the Panda Family Grief Center in West Des Moines, Iowa offers the most comprehensive and ongoing services for children, teens, adults and families struggling with a death of a loved one in the state of Iowa. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Des Moines donates moving and delivery services for the Amanda the Panda(opens in a new window) annual camp. 

Domestic violence is one of the most destructive forces in our society. Children & Families of Iowa’s domestic violence services provide a unique approach to helping victims of domestic violence rebuild their lives. Children and Families of Iowa is the recipient of the Movers for Moms® donations in Des Moines. We also help to move their clients in need multiple times a year. 

Des Moines area HyVee stores have graciously allowed us to place boxes for collection during our Movers for Moms® drive.

KDSM FOX 17 in Des Moines has joined us as an amazing partner for our Movers for Moms® drive. They are helping to spread the word with PSAs.
