The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce serves as a voice for local businesses by providing engagement and involvement opportunities. With the support of the members, city officials, and local organizations, we're able to build better partnerships within the communities where we work and live. We truly appreciate the support we have received through connecting with the chamber as we both strive to strengthen our community. 

It's time for our third annual MOVERS FOR MEALS®  food collection campaign! Once again, we are asking our community to come together and collect food for families staying at the Lotus House shelter. Between now and the end of November, stop by either our Hallandale or Doral locations to drop off non-perishable food items from Lotus House's wishlist. Your contributions will help ensure all in our community have access to food this winter holiday season.

Every spring, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country collect donations with our charity campaign, MOVERS FOR MOMS®. Beginning in March, this program aims to help women and children of domestic abuse at Lotus House, a local shelter in downtown Miami. All donations are delivered in early May, right before Mother's day so they can enjoy their gifts right on time. 

We want to give a huge "thank you" to everyone who supported this wonderful campaign in 2022! The generosity from the entire community as well as the involvement of our partners and schools was overwhelming and it definitely helped make Mother's Day a special one for our friends at the Lotus House.

Situated in a quiet enclave in the heart of Overtown, Miami, Lotus House provides shelter, sanctuary, and support to women, youth and children who are among the most fragile and needy in our community. Lotus House is home to over 450 women and children each year who are homeless, whether due to domestic violence, disabilities or economic reasons. The women and children are sheltered in a respectful, healing environment, with access to wrap-around support service. At Lotus House, the minds, bodies, and spirits of women, youth, and children are nurtured and supported to empower them to heal, learn, grow and blossom into who they are truly meant to be. In 2017, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® collected and donated over 5,000 items to the mothers in need for Movers for Moms®.

We partnered with other areas TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises to offer our assistance for a diaper drive event, sponsored by Kimberly Clark in the greater Miami market. The diaper drive was part of the National Diaper Needs Awareness. Area Publix stores also participated by placing donation dump bins to collect diapers over a period of time. Our movers and drivers picked up the donation binds and delivered them to Treasure Coast Food Bank. Treasure Coast Food Bank mission is to alleviate hunger by obtaining and distributing essential items and food to people in the Miami and surrounding areas. 

Voices for Children Foundation, Inc. raises funds to ensure every abused, abandoned, and neglected child in Miami-Dade County has financial assistance is appointed a Guardian ad Litem. Each year they host, Be A Voice Gala, and welcome business professionals and community leaders to come together and stand up for these children. The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Miami team volunteered to move items to set up the event.

Cheeriodicals exists to bring smiles to the faces of children and veterans who are currently hospitalized. They coordinate corporate team-building events in order to assemble hundreds of cheer-giving gift-boxes.  Our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Miami team then delivers the boxes to the hospitals, and the gifts are handed out to the recipients.

We love to be involved as possible in our community and appreciate the support we have received from the Doral Chamber of Commerce. They are continuously inventing new ways to support small- and medium-sized businesses in Doral and nearby areas. They add untold value to our community through their networking and education efforts and we are happy to support them in any way we can!
