The man in the office who estimated the job and price and time it would take was useless. My suggestions would be to get an estimator over to people's homes to estimate the job rather than pulling numbers our of their hat. I explained what the furniture was to be moved and explained that depending on how much of the smaller things I could move myself, I would pay the extra time spent moving whatever the small things I couldn't move would cost to move. The owner made a big fuss over my taking more than an hour and a half to move my things. It takes that long to disassemble and reassemble the beds alone. He had schedule another job for noon when mine had just begun at 10:00 a.m.
That was stressful at best.
<div>Louise, You are absolutely correct -- we should have sent an in-home estimator to your home to provide you with an estimate for your move. We apologize this did not happen in your case and are sorry for the scheduling conflict, too. The prices provided to our Customers are obtained by entering the list of items provided by our Customer into our computer program. Then, based on the estimated weight of the items, the program then calculates the estimated cost of the move. Many times, it is difficult to provide an accurate estimate if the Customer is unsure of the quantity and weight of the "smaller things" he/she would be moving on their own. I hope this explanation is somewhat helpful to you. We truly appreciate your business and your feedback.</div>
