Movers for Moms®

Thank You, NORTH COUNTY!

This year’s Movers for Moms® drive was another reminder of how powerful community support can be.

Together with several incredible local businesses throughout North County, we collected nearly 40 boxes filled with thousands of donated items for mothers supported by Father Joe’s Villages. All donations were delivered in time for their Mother’s Day pop-up event, helping provide comfort and care to moms experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

From personal care products and toiletries to thoughtful self-care items, every contribution helped make Mother’s Day feel a little brighter for women and families going through difficult times.

MOVERS FOR MILITARY® Wrap-Up: Thank YOU!

Wow, what a year it’s been for MOVERS FOR MILITARY®! We’re beyond thankful for the amazing support from our community. Since 2012, we’ve worked to help veterans in need, and this year, with our new San Marcos and North County locations, we reached more people than ever.

Thanks to YOU—our awesome customers, partners, and friends—we collected over 1,500 care items for local veterans supported by Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD). Here’s what your kindness made possible:

  • 450+ pieces of clothing for men and women
  • 200+ pairs of socks and shoes
  • 500+ hygiene products like toothpaste and soap
  • Backpacks, bedding, blankets, games, and art supplies

Because of your generosity, veterans who’ve served our country are getting the comfort and care they deserve.

We’re also giving a big shoutout to the schools, businesses, and organizations who hosted donation boxes. Your efforts inspired so many to join in and make a difference.

While this year’s drive is a wrap, the spirit of giving never ends. Keep an eye out for more ways to partner with us and support our local heroes.

Got Questions About MOVERS FOR MILITARY®? We’ve Got Answers!

What is MOVERS FOR MILITARY®? 
It’s our way of giving back to local veterans in need! Each fall, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® teams up with businesses, schools, and organizations to collect essential items for homeless veterans. We provide collection boxes and pick up donations so everything is ready in time for Veterans Day. Think of it as a community effort to make a big difference!

Who benefits from MOVERS FOR MILITARY®? 
All donations go to Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD). They support local veterans, including those dealing with challenges like homelessness, substance abuse, or mental health issues. Many are men and women who’ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and your donations help them feel seen and supported.

How can I help? 
There are a few ways to pitch in:

  • Join as a collection partner! We’ll provide the tools you need to host a drive.
  • Donate! You can set aside items from the wish list on your move day, and our team will deliver them for you.
  • Drop off items at one of our collection partner locations.

What’s on the Wish List?

  • Gently used:
    • Large menswear (XXL+), hoodies, jackets, sweatpants, beanies, backpacks, blankets, sleeping bags
    • Games, musical instruments, art supplies, and recovery-themed books or movies
  • New:
    • Socks, underwear (men’s and women’s)
    • Hygiene items like soap, razors, toothpaste, feminine products, and combs
    • Pillows, planners, journals, and phone chargers
