Movers for Moms® is a community program where TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations partner up with local businesses to collect donations for moms in need. This year, we collected donations for the YWCA. We recently completed our donation and just want to thank all of our community partners for all of their help! 

This Christmas season we collected items benefiting Colette's Children's Home(opens in a new window) of Huntington Beach. Colette's Children's Home provides homeless women and mothers with children a safe home and nurturing environment. Here they obtain compassionate support and services needed to achieve self-sufficiency. We collected hundreds of items ranging from bed linens donated by the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach to grocery items and monetary donations collected through our collection partner Grocery Outlet of Orange. Thank you to everyone who participated in this collection event, you put smiles on the faces of many families, thank you!

We are excited to share that we are donating free move days to Families Forward(opens in a new window) of Irvine! We are helping families move forward into permanent housing in the effort to help find a more stable and secure life. We are also collecting non perishable food items and personal care products for these families with our Movers for Moms® effort to celebrate Mother's Day! Summer months are a huge dry season for food donations for this organization and we will be carrying on with this effort throughout the year to aid in their efforts to restock their pantry.

A full year in advance, our team has volunteered our time and man hours to help out the Orange County Children's Book Festival with event set up in October 2017. This year the event saw 30,000 attendees flood the grounds, students and happy families clamoring for books! There were over 125 authors, 25 illustrators, dozens of storytellers, 135 booths, as the book festival partnered with local public school systems and the Orange County Public Library. We are thrilled and honored to be a part of next year's festivities. Thank you Barry and Pat for hosting this event coming into its 14th year, you are rock stars!

Santa Ana College held their Relay for Life 2017 event this past April, we donated our service to help set up for the 24 hour event centered around saving lives and celebrating the lives we have. Donations are used to fund live-saving cancer research, patient support programs, prevention information and education, and detection and treatment programs. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This is why we Relay. We are happy to help the American Cancer Society in their Relay for Life event to fund groundbreaking research, crucial patient care programs, and education and prevention information.

Our team decided to celebrate Thanksgiving by becoming McBakers for the Ronald McDonald House(opens in a new window) in Orange. We will be making treats for families tending to loved ones at the Children's Hosipital of Orange County (CHOC). Since opening in 1989, the Orange County Ronald McDonald House has provided comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. The hope is to create a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy. Our team is proud to support the Ronald McDonald House of Orange.

Triple Threat Mentoring(opens in a new window) provides after school programs to students in Orange County, where volunteers share their passions in the hopes to ignite a passion within these students. Whether it is in the arts, athletics and academics, the goal of Triple Threat Mentoring is to shape well rounded students. We are happy to share that we are helping Triple Threat Mentoring Arts Programs by providing art supplies for students! We collected a variety of mediums for the students to create with, everything from acrylic and spray paints to watercolors and pastels in both oil and chalk forms, brushes, artists' pencils, canvases, palettes, sketch pads, and even tarps. We are excited as our collaborate effort with Jo-Ann Crafts in Orange has been a success! A huge thank you goes out to our managerial team at Jo-Ann's as the team so graciously allowed us to host a donation event at the retail location.

According to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, nearly 131,000 Veterans are homeless on any given night. To celebrate Veterans Day we partnered with the US Veterans Initiative and Grocery Outlet in the City of Orange to help increase the quality of life our veterans lead. Thank you for joining us in our mission to provide increasingly stable living conditions for Vets, we collected hundreds of food and personal care items. This upcoming season we are hoping to do the same and then some!
