Giving back to Des Plaines
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns
Movers for Moms® Supporting WINGS 2026
This season, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is proud to partner with WINGS Program, Inc., the largest domestic violence agency in Illinois, to support women and families rebuilding their lives after abuse.
WINGS provides safe housing, food, and essential resources, helping survivors regain independence and stability. Nearly 99% of survivors experience financial abuse, making community support critical.
We’re working with local businesses and organizations to collect donations—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
Drop-off location:
1900 Raymond Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062
(We have a donation box available at our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location)
Become a collection partner:
We can drop off a donation box at your business and pick it up toward the end of the campaign (around May 8), making it easy for your team or customers to give back.

Movers for Mutts®
We’re proud to share that we wrapped up our Movers for Mutts® campaign, which ran from mid-October through December, and collected an incredible 1,089 donated items for Border Tails Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in Northbrook!
This community-driven campaign was all about supporting dogs in need by providing essential supplies and comfort while they wait for their forever homes—and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing community partners:
• Northbrook Chamber of Commerce
• Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce
• Rover’s Place
• EVS Pet Urgent Care of Northbrook
• Doggy Daydream
• Pet Supplies Plus – Morton Grove
• PetSmart – Northbrook
• Club Pilates – Glenview
• Glenview Grind
• Christian Heritage Academy
A huge thank you to every business and individual who donated and helped spread the word. At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we’re proud to give back and support organizations like Border Tails Rescue that make such a meaningful impact in our community.
TRUCKLOAD OF WARMTH
At our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Des Plaines location, we run a campaign every Fall called Truckload of Warmth to collect warm clothes for those in need. We partner with local businesses and organizations in the community who serve as collection sites. Some of our collection sites include: The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Des Plaines Public Library, the Wild Bird Shack, LSG Sky Chefs, Scharm Floor Covering, Village Bank & Trust, and many more. At the end of the campaign, we will deliver all of the items to the Self Help Closet and Pantry of Des Plaines. Desired items for collection include coats, hats, gloves, and other clothing designed for cold weather. Our 2018 Fall campaign was very successful, and all of those donations will come in handy with the below freezing temperatures this winter has brought us. Thank you to everyone who donated!
Local Partners
SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF ILLINOIS
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Des Plaines partners up with Special Olympics of Illinois throughout the year to help move equipment and supplies to and from their events. One of our favorite events is the Winter Skating Competition, which is held at Canlan Ice Sports. Athletes and teams from all over Illinois come together to participate in this wonderful event. Our mascot Truckie is always there making the athletes laugh so they do not get nervous before the competition. Truckie has done everything from leading a group in stretching, to lacing up the athletes skates (as seen here with Chloe). Special Olympics is such a fantastic organization, and we feel lucky to have the opportunity to work together.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Habitat For Humanity works with students at Maine West High School in Des Plaines to build the side panels for houses. Once the side pannels have been built, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Des Plaines transports the side panels to the site of the new home. This program offers students a great opportunity to help others through hard work and dicipline. We are glad to be part of such a great program and work with such wonderful organizations.
Northwest Community Hospital
We recently donated 500 bottles of water to Northwest Community Hospital. It is important to us that healthcare workers stay hydrated during this challenging time, but above all that they know how much we appreciate all their hard work. We also donated hundreds of bottles of water to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Mount Prospect Fire Department, and the Westchester Fire Department. It’s our way of saying “Thank you healthcare workers and first responders for all that you do!”
The Self-Help Closet and Pantry of Des Plaines
We recently partnered with the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce’s Veterans Back to Work Bootcamp for their volunteer project. This year’s project was to move the Self Help Closet and Pantry of Des Plaines out of their old location and into their new location. We donated our services to help the veterans with the move. The Pantry is helping so many individuals in need during this difficult time, so we were honored to be able to help them with this move. Congratulations to the Pantry on their beautiful new location, and congratulations to all of the Veterans who will soon be graduating from the Back to Work Bootcamp.
