2024 Movers for Moms® campaign collects more than 431,000 items for shelters nationwide

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Bloomington Indiana Movers For Moms 2024

Each day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises live out our core value of giving back to the community. For the past 17 years, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises have been partnering with local businesses, schools, and other community sites to collect essential care items for local shelters in their areas that typically deal with domestic violence or homelessness as part of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s national Movers for Moms®(opens in a new window) campaign.

In 2024, more than 431,000 items were collected and donated to over 200 shelters in various communities nationwide right in time for Mother’s Day!

The Treasure Coast, Florida, team collected 25,783 items for their shelter partner, Graceway Village. Marketing Manager Trisha Cloyd said her favorite part about Movers for Moms is delivery day.

“When we open our full truck and start unloading thousands of items, the look on their faces is unforgettable,” said Cloyd. “It is such an amazing feeling. The impact is huge. We have been working with Graceway Village for years. They get so giddy when I call to let them know it's that time of year and to send me a wish list! The donations help thousands of women and children yearly.”

Over in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Marketing Director Daniel Branson and his team collected 1,043 items for St. Joseph Missions.

“Taking in boxes of items and seeing smiling faces filled with joy is incredibly rewarding,” Branson said. “The second is rallying the community to help a greater cause. It's easy to be divided right now, but having a common effort that everyone involved believes in helps strength our community and relationships.

Branson added that Movers for Moms provides a consistent way for their shelter partner to receive items every year.

“Most non-profit’s biggest challenge is raising money. For our shelter to know they're going to be receiving 1,000 (or more) items around Mother's Day helps with planning on how they can best support their women. Collecting and donating the necessities removes that task and allows the shelter and women to focus on their recovery and steps for improvement,” Branson said.

Movers for Moms was ran in 47 states this year, and there were more than 1,400 community partners who helped spread the word about the campaign by word of mouth, digital promotion, and hosting boxes at their locations to help collect donations.

With more than 2 million items donated throughout the past 17 years, Movers for Moms has made an impact in many women’s and family’s lives and has grown tremendously over the years. Movers for Moms began as a statewide program throughout Michigan in 2007, and by 2014, it became a national program for all locations.

As the 2024 Movers for Moms season comes to a close, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK looks forward to moving more women and families forward in 2025 and making an even bigger impact.
