2026 TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Halloween Boxtume Tutorial: A Die

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Boxtume Tutorial: Die

Halloween is next week, but there’s still plenty of time to get a costume idea together before the 31st!

If you are looking for inspiration and want something you can make yourself, consider trying one of our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK boxtume ideas! What are boxtumes? They’re quick, easy DIY costumes that can be made at home using old, recycled moving boxes and other supplies you can normally find around the house.

We’ve already revealed two boxtume ideas for 2026 – a Present and a Fidget Spinner – and the tutorials for both can be found here.

Now, it’s time for our last boxtume tutorial of the 2026 Halloween season: a Die!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 medium or large cardboard box, depending on the child’s size
  • White duct tape or white poster board
  • Black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue or a hot glue gun
  • Pencil
  • Ruler (optional, for measuring)
  • Heavy-duty string or sturdy ribbon for the shoulder straps
  • Tape (optional, for extra support)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Box

Start with a medium or large cardboard box, depending on the size of the child. Carefully cut off all four top and bottom flaps of the box.

Step 2: Cover the Box

Cover the entire outside of the box with white duct tape or white poster board. Make sure all sides are completely covered so the box looks like a large white die.

If you’re using oak tag, cut pieces large enough to cover each side of the box and secure them with glue or tape.

Step 3: Create the Numbers

Using black construction paper, cut out several medium-sized circles. These circles will represent the dots on each side of the die.

Step 4: Add the Dots

Arrange the black circles on each side of the box to create the numbers you want on your die. Once you’re happy with the placement, glue each circle securely to the box.

Step 5: Create the Straps

To make the costume easy to wear, use heavy-duty string or sturdy ribbon to create two shoulder straps.

Attach one end of the string to the inside of the box near the top edge, then attach the other end to the opposite side to create a shoulder strap. Repeat on the other side to create the second strap.

Make sure the straps are securely attached and comfortable for the child to wear. Allow the glue to dry completely before trying on the costume.

Step 6: You’re Ready to Roll!

Once everything is completely dry and securely attached, carefully put on your die costume and get ready for a fun Halloween night!
