To prepare for booking your upcoming move, be sure to have and know the following: an inventory list, whether you or our team will pack and unpack you, the floor in which you’re moving in or out of, and whether an elevator is part of the equation.
- Also, be sure to make an inventory list. The more information our customer service representatives have, the more accurately they can estimate your move time. Go through your home, room by room, and write down what you have – beds, dressers, nightstands, tables, bookcases, couches, chairs, televisions, china hutches, etc. The more accurate your inventory, the easier it will be for your customer services representative to estimate needed items like mattress pads, tape, boxes, pads, and stretch wrap to properly prepare and safely move your belongings.
- If we’re packing you, be sure to note breakables, books, kitchenware, clothing, etc. If you’re packing, make sure every item is in a box or tote and properly labeled. When lampshades and pillows are still loose, that is a trip to the truck in itself whereas, if they’re in boxes, multiple boxes may be stacked onto a dolly and moved much faster.
- If you’re moving out of or into a multi-floor home or apartment complex and there is an elevator, these services take more time because of the extra distance to and from the truck for loading and unloading. If an elevator is involved, try to reserve it for moving so the team isn’t using it around other residents, which increases the length of the move.
Did you know it only takes about one and a half minutes to properly stretch wrap an oval dining room table? Many customers worry about the additional time it takes to stretch wrap and pad furniture pieces. However, when you ask the team to move forward without it, it puts your items at risk for potential damages. Taking a few minutes to properly protect your items upfront saves you from worry and a possible headache in the long run.

Whether you take the project on yourself or hire professional help, home renovations can be very stressful. One way to reduce the stress of home renovations is to make sure you have a clear work space when attacking the project. This will allow you to prevent any damages to your belongings when moving objects, and we are here to help with that. We will come and pack all of your things into boxes and take them to a different room or storage facility until the renovation is done. Then, bring them right back when the project is complete.
