To help answer some of the most common questions, we sat down with Lena, Sales Manager at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® San Diego. Lena works with customers every day and helps them find the right option for their long-distance move.
Q: Who is Crated Moving best for?
Lena: Crated moving is a great option for customers who don't need a full moving truck. We work with a lot of college students moving home for the summer or going back to school. It's also a good option if you've sold most of your furniture and just want to move the items that are most important to you.
Whether you're moving from La Jolla, Little Italy, Downtown San Diego, Coronado, or Chula Vista, Crated moving can be a smart option for a smaller long-distance move.
Q: How does our Crated service work?
Lena: Instead of reserving a whole truck just for your move, your belongings are loaded into a heavy-duty shipping crate.
Our movers first load everything onto one of our trucks. We then bring your belongings to our secure warehouse, where they're carefully placed into your own crate and sealed for shipping.
Q: Are my belongings mixed with someone else's?
Lena: No! That's actually one of the questions we get most often. Each customer has their own sealed crate, and it only contains their belongings.
The crates are made to meet industry standards for shipping furniture and household goods long distance, helping keep your items protected while they're being transported.
Q: How is Crated different from a other portable containers?
Lena: This is one of the biggest differences customers notice. With many portable container companies, you're responsible for loading and unloading your belongings yourself.
With Crated, professional movers in San Diego handle the loading and unloading. Your furniture is also protected with moving pads and stretch wrap, and valuation protection is included in case something is lost or damaged.
For a lot of customers, having experienced movers handle the heavy lifting makes the whole process much easier.
Q: How long does Crated moving take?
Lena: Most Crated moving deliveries arrive within one to two weeks, depending on the destination.
Once your shipment reaches the local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise, their team will contact you to schedule your delivery within your estimated delivery window.
Q: What would you tell someone considering using the service?
Lena: If you're planning a smaller long-distance move and don't need an entire moving truck, Crated moving can be a great option. You still get professional help from trained movers, furniture protection, and support throughout the process without having to handle the heavy lifting yourself.
