Tim Lightner
Tim started the Madison franchise in 1993 with one truck and two movers, balancing his full-time job with taking orders and helping on the truck nights and weekends. In those early days, orders were taken by phone, handwritten, and drivers called in from pay phones between moves. His initial goal was to grow to three trucks in five years, which seemed like a huge milestone at the time.
Today, the Madison franchise runs 25 trucks during the summer and employs over 80 staff members. Tim’s focus has shifted to giving back to the industry, supporting the community, and helping his staff develop. He volunteers with the International Franchise Association and has been invited to speak at industry events, sharing his experience and best practices.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his teenage daughter, as well as biking and hunting up north. He takes great pride in watching the team grow and achieve their own dreams.
