Label every box on two sides — and label it with both the room and the priority.
It sounds simple, but here’s why it works so well:
- Two-side labeling saves time When boxes are stacked in a truck or placed in a new home, the front label isn’t always visible. Labeling two adjacent sides means your movers — and you — can instantly identify what goes where without rotating boxes or guessing.
- Room + priority = instant organization Instead of writing only “Kitchen,” add a quick priority tag like High, Medium, or Low.
- High = unpack today
- Medium = unpack this week
- Low = unpack when you get to it This helps you settle in faster and reduces that overwhelming “where do I start” feeling.
- It protects fragile items Clear labeling helps ensure delicate items are placed in the right spot immediately, not shuffled around later.
