Are you overwhelmed with a big move coming up? Summer is a busy time for everyone, with vacations, sporting events, etc, there is so much to do with what feels like little time! Last year, our team performed over 200 moves in the month of June alone, and we want to help others prepare for what’s ahead.
Being prepared and having everything ready for the upcoming big move will help ensure that everything runs smoothly! Moving is stressful and a lot of work, but if you do the work beforehand, it will make life easier.
How can you prepare for your upcoming move?
- Declutter! Before moving, it is a good idea to go through ALL of your belongings and get rid of or donate the things you have been hanging on to and don’t need.
- Snap a quick picture of how your cords are connected! This will be helpful when you want to set up all of your TVs or gaming devices.
- When packing, color-code your boxes! This will make unpacking a breeze, and you will know where everything needs to go.
- Pack a “Day of Move Kit”. You can put all of the essentials you may need when you first get to your new home. For example, water, snacks, toiletries, medications, etc.
The list could go on and on with ways to be prepared for your move. Things can change in the process of moving, so it is essential to always be ready to face what challenges are ahead. We also suggest that during the summer months to book your move 2-4 weeks in advance; this will ensure a spot on our schedule!
