Tips for Packing

Packing can be stressful. But, good packing cuts down on damages and ensures moves go easily.

  1. Start Early: Begin packing well in advance of your moving date to avoid last-minute stress.

  2. Declutter: Take the opportunity to declutter your belongings before packing. Donate or discard items you no longer need or use.

  3. Gather Supplies: Collect sturdy boxes in various sizes, packing tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, and markers for labeling.

  4. Pack Room by Room: Pack one room at a time to stay organized and keep similar items together. Label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to.

  5. Protect Fragile Items: Wrap fragile items like glassware, dishes, and electronics in bubble wrap or packing paper. Use extra padding at the bottom and sides of boxes containing fragile items.

  6. Use Small Boxes for Heavy Items: Pack heavy items such as books and small appliances in small boxes to prevent them from becoming too heavy to lift.

  7. Fill Empty Spaces: Fill empty spaces in boxes with packing paper or clothing to prevent items from shifting during transit.

  8. Securely Seal Boxes: Tape boxes securely on the bottom and top to prevent them from opening during the move.

  9. Label Clearly: Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This will make unpacking much easier.

  10. Pack Essentials Separately: Pack a separate box with essentials you'll need immediately upon arrival, such as toiletries, a change of clothes, important documents, and basic kitchen items.

  11. Consider Hiring Two Men and a Truck: If you're overwhelmed by the packing process, consider hiring Two Me and a Truck!

By following these tips, you can pack your items efficiently and ensure they arrive safely at your new home.
