Tim Lightner
Tim Lightner became a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee in 1993 and now owns four locations in Wisconsin. Having neighboring locations in Wisconsin has worked out to benefit everyone, he says. If one of his TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations are booked up for a day, another location with openings can step in and help out, for example.
“I’ve been with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK for 28 years,” Lightner said. “A lot of success comes down to leadership style, but even more important is for a brand to develop an open culture of trust. It takes a lot of hard work and challenging conversations to create an open atmosphere, but it’s worth it. In franchising, everyone has to win—the customer, the franchisor, the franchisee, the employee, and the community,” he says.

President | Owner
Lisa Paley
Lisa demonstrated natural leadership from the beginning of her career with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK when she started as a part-time bookkeeper while in college. Effective on January 1, 2020, she was named president of four TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Madison, and three satellite offices: New Berlin, Pewaukee, and Plymouth.
When asked why she chose TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, rather than becoming a CPA as originally intended, she said, “I earned my degree and started thinking about what I really wanted. For me, the CPA degree had a disconnect between people and numbers. I wanted to know how to impact the numbers, and I believe the best way to do that is by impacting the people. When you come alongside people and help them to grow and evolve, the business will also grow and evolve. I’m an example of that myself.”
During each step of her career, Lisa has embraced challenges by learning them, owning them, and helping others along the way. Tim Lightner, founding franchisee and CEO of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Madison, Waukesha, Racine, and Milwaukee, put it this way, “On a daily basis, Lisa provides vision, creates buy-in, listens patiently and empathetically, coaches individuals and teams, provides necessary tools, delegates (not abdicates) responsibility and authority through decision-making empowerment, holds teams accountable for results, adjusts on the fly, remains cool under pressure, and so much more.”

Human Resources Manager
Mary Schissel
"Laissez les bons temps rouler!" or "Let the good times roll!" is Mary's philosophy on daily life around TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. After hitting her five-year employment anniversary, she said it's the high-quality people and relationships that keep her here. She says "Co-workers at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK feel like family. Our environment is welcoming, encouraging, and always reaching for excellence." And Mary would know because she personally onboards each and every employee at the company. Her door is open. Her smile is wide. And her passion for getting the right people in the right positions is inspiring to watch.
Mary loves cooking, gardening, her dogs, family, and traveling (not necessarily in that order!). She's a huge fan of any travel where she can soak in great history and delicious food, but she's always happy to come back and call the greater Milwaukee area home.
