Nova-Alexandria Community Involvement

Mary Ellen Sheets, the founder of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® established the practice of giving back to her community her first year in business. Thirty years later, we are proud to carry on that practice in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC area. Our very own Do Good program makes a difference and creates impact on the lives of our community members. We set aside 1% of each of our moves and make contributions to local charities.

Special Olympics Virginia (SOVA)

We have partnered with Savers FunDrive and  Special Olympics Virginia (SOVA) to raise donations to send a special athlete to the 2018 Special Olympics. With the help of Meridian at Carlyle and Meridian at Braddock Station, we were able to collect over 30 boxes of donations! These donations will be turned into funds to help send the athlete to the Special Olympics, where they will receive free medical attention and to compete in the games!

Movers for Moms®

Each spring, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises across the country host Movers for Moms®, a community program to collect personal care items for women in local shelters, just in time for Mother’s Day. We partner with local businesses in the community to donate household goods and women’s toiletries which are then given to Bethany House. Located in Alexandria, Bethany House supports women and children in the DC and Northern Virginia area who have been victims of domestic violence. Our 2016 campaign raised over 1,000 items for Bethany House. 2017 will mark our 10 year anniversary for Movers For Moms® and  are excited to be partnering with Annandale Play-care and Nova Annandale Campus' Rotaract Club. If you are interested in partnering for our 2018 Movers For Moms drive, please contact our marketing coordinator (Gabby) at Gabby.Bonilla@twomen.com

Bread For The City

Located in Washington D.C., Bread For The City is a nonprofit organization that serves the residents of Washington D.C. Bread For The City provides food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services in an environment of dignity and respect. At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® we donate a percentage of our sales to this organization. We believe in the work that Bread For The City does, and we want to recognize them for their great work and service to the community!

Friends Of The Fairfax County Animal Shelter

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, not only do we donate a percentage of our sales to Friends Of The Fairfax County Animal Shelter (FFCAS), we also volunteer our time!  The FFCAS receives more than 5,000 domestic and stray animals from difficult pasts. FFCAS provides edquipment/supplies, medical treatments, and adoption options for the animals in their shelters. Their goal is to raise funds and awareness to improve the quality of life for the animals in their shelters.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Ronald McDonald House offers quality health care to children with severe illnesses. While children are getting great medical treatment, their families are close by, staying at the Ronald McDonald family houses. The RMHC understands how frustrating it can be for families in this situation, having to deal with hotel accommodations, constantly traveling, and not having the best resources available. So the RMHC created family homes next to the medical centers so that families can have a safe and secure place to stay and also offer better support and comfort for their children getting medical care. At Two Men And A Truck, we value all that the RMHC has done and hosted a toy drive during the Winter to the children and their families at the RMHC.
