We Love Genesee County!

Ever since we moved into the Genesee County community in 1998 we have made it our mission to not only help move the community forward but to give back whenever possible. Our involvement in the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce has helped tremendously! Throughout the years we have had the opportunity to work with many great organizations to bring help to those in need, and also have done work of our own through the MOVERS FOR MOMS® program and Wishes for Whaley programs. Thank you for so many great years, we are proud to be a part of this great community!

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Campaigns

Movers for Moms®

Engrained in our Core Values is giving back to the community. Starting in 2009 we have run our MOVERS FOR MOMS® campaign which is a national campaign aiming to make all mothers feel special on mothers day. On a local level we partner with schools and organizations like Ross Education Center of Flint, Ross Medical Education Center of Davison, Holy Rosary Flint, Faith Tabernacle and Creative Learning Academy to collect essential items to donate to theYWCA of Greater Flint to help domestic violence victims right before Mothers Day. It is our 9th year for our campaign and in 2017 we were able to collect 1,150 items. Give our office a call to findout how you can help bring resources to a mother in need.

Local Partners

BOTTLES FOR THE BABIES

When the city of Flint was struck by disaster with the Flint water crisis a grassroots group of women called Bottles for the Babies reached out to us.Bottles for The Babies is an organization established in 2015 to supply the children of Flint with clean drinking water. With the need for clean water, education and advocacy being so great across the city, efforts were extended to include consistent wraparound services to the citizens including deliveries to home bound residents (the elderly, physically handicapped). We donated our trucks and men to help founder Lanice Lawson and Bottles for the Babies transport water to those in need.

MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER

To raise breast cancer awarenss and honor breast cancer survivors, the American Cancer Society hosts a 3-5 mile walk every year in downtown Flint called "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer." For the past several years, we have had the priveledge to be involved in this uniting event. With the help of our men and our trucks, we aid in the set-up and take-down of all materials needed to make this event a great one. We are blessed to be involved in such a great cause and look forward to the many years of working with the American Cancer Society to come.

NATIONAL MS SOCIETY

For the past two years we have been assisting the National MS Society with their Bike MS

Great Lakes Mid Michigan Breakaway event. Riders bike to raise money for the National MS Society. Where do we come in? We transport the rider's luggage from their starting location to their end location where the stay the night. The next morning, we pick the items up and deliver them back to the original location. We are really proud we are able to help out the past two years, the bikers do the hard work and helping with their luggage is the least we can do.

OLD NEWSBOYS OF FLINT

The Old Newsboys of Flint believes that Christmas is for children and that enjoying Christmas like his or her playmates may help a child grow up to be a good citizen. They have been working within the community since

1924 to help bring toys, coats and boots to children in need for Christmas. For the past couple years, we have been helping pick up boxes of donations from community donors and deliver them to be sorted and given to children in need. We play a small roll in the Old Newsboys Coat, Boots and Shoes program but we are glad to help such a wonderful organization.

WHALEY CHILDREN'S CENTER

The Whaley Children's Center provides shelter, hope and healing to nearly 90 children each year who are survivors or horrific abuse and neglect. Through an intense treatment process provided by qualified and dedicated staff, children are taught the skills necessary to thrive in life as well as given strategies to cope with their past and press on to greater futures. Each year they hold their fundraiser Tux and Tennies Gala fundraiser. In 2013, 2016, and 2017 we have donated our time to transport the donations to the event location and bring the remaining items back. The folks over at Whaley Children's Center are amazing people with a heart of gold and we are humbled to be able to help them out when needed.

WISHES FOR WHALEY

Did you know that The Whaley Childrens Center hosts an average of 90 children per year, many of which have never celebrated their birthday before? Our 2017 fall chairty campaign is dedicated to helping the volunteers at Whaley Children's Center provide each child a memorable birthday celebration. We are collecting gifts for boys and girls, party decorations, gift wrap, and much more. Ross Medical Education Center of Davison is partnering with us to collect donations at their location. Would you like to help us in our mission? Give us a call or message us on Facebook to get involved in our Wishes for Whaley campaign!

YWCA OF GREATER FLINT

The YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural woman's organization in the world. Across the globe, we have more than 25 million members in 122 countries, including two million members in 300 local associations in the United States. More important than the numbers is their mission to eliminate racism and empower women. The YWCA of Greater Flint does amazing things within the Flint community, and The Safehouse in particular is where we help out with Moves for Moms®. The Safehouse program is a 31-bed unit facility that provides 30 days or more of safe emergency shelter and supportive services to homeless survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and the donations we collect each year go to help the Mothers in need. We are proud to partner with the YWCA each year, and look forward to our partnership for years to come.
